Chapter 123 - Namikaze Minato’s Training—Mount Myōboku

In truth, Ning Feng had long wanted to cultivate Sage Mode.

After all, in the original story, it was precisely Naruto's terrifying power in Sage Mode that allowed him to repel Pain after the destruction of Konoha.

It was just that until now, Ning Feng had never had the opportunity to train in it.

Now that his teacher, Namikaze Minato, had personally brought up senjutsu cultivation, even though Ning Feng had been mentally prepared, he still couldn't help but feel shocked.

He could truly feel how much care and consideration Minato had for him.

Taking a deep breath, Ning Feng quickly said,

"Teacher, you're really too good to me!"

Minato shot him a sideways glance, the kind that said figure it out yourself.

After a short pause, Minato clasped his hands behind his back and said,

"If you hadn't already become the Third Rain Shadow, and if there weren't so many people out there wanting your life, I wouldn't have taught you such a trump-card technique."

In truth, even as a teacher, Minato was somewhat reluctant to pass down senjutsu.

After all, a teacher always had at least a little selfishness in their heart.

But watching his student rise against the odds, his strength expanding at an astonishing speed, and his enemies growing more numerous by the day—Minato simply couldn't sit by and do nothing.

Moreover, Minato knew very well that cultivating senjutsu was far from simple. The dangers along the way could truly be described as nine deaths out of ten.

"I knew it—teacher treats me the best!"

Ning Feng grinned.

Probably only in front of his teacher would Ning Feng show this side of himself.

In front of others, he was decisive, authoritative, and naturally imposing.

"Cheeky brat."

Minato scolded him lightly, then handed over the summoning scroll he had already taken out earlier.

Soon, in front of Ning Feng, a summoning contract covered in various clauses appeared.

From the names and content on the contract, Ning Feng could tell that it was largely similar to the summoning contract he had signed with the Enma clan—using chakra to summon contract beasts to fight, while the beasts themselves gained growth and benefits through combat.

The only difference was that this was a Mount Myōboku summoning contract.

Ning Feng even saw the names of his teacher Namikaze Minato and Jiraiya written on it.

[System Notification]: Summoning Scroll Detected — "Mount Myōboku."

After signing this contract, you may consume chakra to summon Mount Myōboku's toad summons for battle.

Do you wish to sign the contract?

Before Ning Feng could even react, the crisp system prompt echoed in his ears.

He froze for a moment, not expecting the system to respond so quickly.

Without hesitation, Ning Feng calmly wrote his name at the end of the summoning scroll.

Just like when he had signed the contract with Enma, the instant the contract was completed, Ning Feng clearly felt a powerful force surge into his body, giving rise to a strange and wonderful sensation.

It felt as though he had been invisibly connected to a powerful existence.

Especially within his sea of consciousness—he could clearly sense that with a single thought, a summoning beast would come to his aid and protect him.

At the same time, Ning Feng could also feel the difference between the Mount Myōboku summons and Enma.

If the toads of Mount Myōboku focused more on ninjutsu and taijutsu, then Enma's summons emphasized raw strength and explosive power.

Each had its own strengths—neither was inferior to the other.

As Ning Feng was thinking this, the summoning scroll seemed to sense something and swiftly flew back into Minato's hand.

"Very good. Now, Uchiha Feng, you've signed the summoning contract with Mount Myōboku."

"As for cultivating senjutsu, there are only three known sacred lands in the ninja world."

"One is Mount Myōboku, another is Ryūchi Cave, and the last is Shikkotsu Forest."

"But none of the senjutsu from these three sacred lands is easy to cultivate."

"Before we begin, you must be mentally prepared."

After this reminder, Minato took a deep look at Ning Feng, then slammed his hand firmly onto the ground.

Summoning!

In an instant, a small toad appeared in front of Minato. After Minato whispered a few instructions to it, the toad vanished without a trace, as if it had never existed.

Not long after, both Minato and Ning Feng felt a powerful pulling force.

When Ning Feng opened his eyes again, he found that he and his teacher were standing atop a mountain lush with vegetation.

Behind the mountain stood countless stone toad statues, standing quietly in solemn rows. Nearby was an enormous temple, within which several white-haired toads were conversing softly.

As Minato appeared, many toads immediately emerged.

Just like in the original story—Gamkichi, Gamamaru, Gamatatsu, and others lived nearby, giving the place the feeling of a true paradise secluded from the world.

Most notably, Ning Feng also saw Fukasaku and Shima, the two great toad sages, sitting cross-legged with their eyes closed, sensing natural energy.

"Minato!? Why have you come here!?"

The first to speak was Shima Sage—actually speaking human language.

Mount Myōboku rarely received visitors, especially powerful human shinobi like Namikaze Minato.

Before Minato could respond, Fukasaku Sage had already turned his surprised gaze toward Ning Feng.

"Minato… this young one is… Although he hasn't used any ninjutsu, I can clearly sense just how terrifying his chakra reserves are…"

With Fukasaku's words, Shima Sage finally noticed the extraordinary presence beside Minato.

A truly remarkable figure—

One with potential so immense that it far exceeded expectations.

Seeing even the two sages react this way, Minato became even more certain that bringing Uchiha Feng here to cultivate senjutsu was the right decision.

He quickly said,

"Honored Sages, this is Uchiha Feng—the Third Rain Shadow, and one of my students."

Upon hearing that he was Minato's student, the two sages immediately became even more interested, their eyes carefully examining Ning Feng.

"Honored Sages, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Ning Feng shrugged lightly and clasped his hands with a smile.

From the bottom of his heart, he held deep respect for the sages of Mount Myōboku.

After all, without them, cultivating senjutsu would be impossible.

Seeing that Ning Feng was so young yet so humble, the goodwill of the two sages toward him rose sharply.
