Chapter 14 - Be My One

The next day, Tiger was at school, walking toward his classroom. A few other students were passing through the hallway as usual, and everything seemed completely normal.

Then Tiger suddenly felt something strange.

He stopped walking.

Slowly, Tiger turned around to see what was behind him.

Fire.

A section of the school had suddenly caught fire.

Tiger stared at it in confusion as a teacher quickly came out of the staff room. The teacher immediately noticed Tiger standing nearby.

"Stay back and get away from here!"

Tiger hesitated for a moment. "S-Sir... how did this fire start?"

"It was probably caused by a short circuit," the teacher replied. "Now go! Quickly!"

Tiger nodded and began walking away.

But instead of actually leaving, he quietly moved behind a wall and hid himself where nobody could see him. The teacher soon left to call the other staff members, and Tiger used that opportunity to approach the fire.

As he got closer, that strange feeling returned.

Then everything changed.

In an instant, day became night.

Tiger froze.

The entire area had become silent, and suddenly, he was completely alone. There were no students. No teachers. Nothing.

Tiger tried getting closer to the fire, but an invisible barrier stopped him. He pushed forward, attempting to get through it.

Suddenly, the invisible force pushed him backward.

Tiger nearly fell but quickly regained his balance.

Then something even stranger happened.

Blood began flowing from the area where the fire was burning.

Tiger stared at it.

He immediately tried moving toward the fire again, but this time, the invisible barrier didn't stop him.

Tiger stepped directly into the flames.

Yet he wasn't burning.

The fire didn't hurt him at all.

Instead, Tiger could see through it.

And on the other side of the flames, something was hanging.

A body.

Suspended from above.

Tiger's eyes widened.

Then—

He suddenly woke up.

Tiger immediately grabbed his shirt tightly, breathing heavily. He slowly placed his hand against his head and sighed.

"That dream... how did I end up dreaming again?"

He sat there silently for a moment.

"These dreams are getting out of control. They're becoming deeper and deeper... What am I supposed to do?"

Tiger lay down on his left side, staring ahead.

First, there's that girl from yesterday. Then that God... and now these dreams. Why are all these people and things appearing around me? If this keeps happening, I'm seriously going to lose my mind.

Tiger looked toward the clock.

6:30 A.M.

But the moment he looked away—

He was back at school.

Tiger's expression immediately changed.

"What...?"

He looked around.

"I was just in my room. How am I back at school again?"

Tiger realized something else.

He was standing directly in front of the same fire.

He took one step forward.

Then immediately stopped himself.

"No..."

Tiger quickly took several steps backward.

At that moment, a teacher arrived carrying a bucket of water and threw it onto the flames. Tiger quickly hid himself again as several other teachers came to help.

Together, they managed to extinguish the fire.

After the teachers eventually left, Tiger slowly stepped out from his hiding place.

Everything was normal again.

Or at least, it looked normal.

Tiger stared at the place where the fire had been.

Then, for just a single second—

He saw it again.

The hanging body.

Night suddenly appeared around him.

And in the very next instant—

Morning returned.

Tiger immediately took a step backward in shock.

But his back collided with someone's chest.

He nearly lost his balance before quickly steadying himself. When Tiger turned around, he realized who he had bumped into.

It was his teacher.

"O-Oh... Sir. I... I was just—"

"Tiger," his teacher interrupted calmly. "Speak properly."

Tiger quickly nodded.

"N-No, Sir. I was just looking at what happened here. I saw the teachers bringing buckets of water, so I came to see what was going on."

His teacher looked toward the burned area.

"You see that?" he said. "The floor has turned completely black because of the fire."

Tiger looked toward it.

But for a brief moment—

He saw something else again.

Tiger immediately took another step backward.

His teacher noticed.

"Tiger, what's wrong with you? You're behaving strangely."

Tiger's gaze immediately moved toward his teacher.

"N-Nothing, Sir. I don't know... I just feel a little strange."

He hesitated for a moment before stepping away.

"Anyway, Sir... I'll leave now."

Tiger began walking away.

As he left, he quietly whispered to himself, "Something isn't right here. At least the other students didn't find out about the fire. It's good that it was controlled quickly... otherwise, who knows what could have happened."

Later, when school ended, Tiger walked back toward his apartment while thinking about everything that had happened.

I thought all of that was just another dream.

He looked ahead silently.

But if it was a dream... then why did I return to the exact same place afterward?

Tiger continued walking.

Eventually, he reached his apartment safely.
