"Caught me?" I blinked innocently, deliberately tilting my head to the side as I calmed myself down. I had to make sure that Violet's words sounded like the accusations of an unhinged woman so that she herself didn't know how close she came to uncovering Ralph's existence. "Caught me… brushing my sister's hair?"
"Don't pretend! I know he was here!" Violet shrieked as she stormed into the room like a rampaging bull. She sucked in a deep breath, and her nostrils flared up. "I can smell him! I know he's here somewhere. I just know it!"
"Can you quiet down?" I winced, rubbing my ears. "You're disturbing Willow's rest."
"Funny of you to mention that." She smirked victoriously, her shoulder knocking into mine on purpose as she began to rummage through the room. "You're out there having an affair right in front of Willow! Just wait. Once I find him, be prepared to suffer the consequences!"
