Damian remained floating in the pool for several more breaths, the warm water lapping gently against his skin.
He turned his head slightly, water dripping from his dark hair. William still stood at attention near the edge. Rin lounged across Loth's lap, half-dried and clearly enjoying the attention. Loth herself continued her quiet work, fingers moving through the fox's fur with care.
"William," Damian said, his voice calm. "Leave us. Take Rin with you."
William inclined his head at once. "Yes, Sire."
He stepped forward, scooped the seven-tailed fox from Loth's lap with the ease of long habit, and carried the protesting spirit toward the door. Rin shot Damian a knowing look over William's shoulder but said nothing. The door closed behind them with a soft, final click.
Silence settled over the steaming chamber as Loth remained where she was, towel still in her hands, watching him.
