Chapter 224 - It Itches a Little

"Multiple teleportation portals have appeared nearby—we have to try to destroy them!"

The instant the thirty Boom Tubes materialized, Fiona reacted without hesitation.

Her heat vision flared to full force, slamming hard into the countless lifeforms pouring out of the Boom Tubes.

As her head moved, the heat vision swept across, carving a burning line through almost every enemy that charged out.

Fiona didn't care whether anyone could withstand her heat vision—after all, its only purpose here was to clear the field!

At the same time, over forty Kryptonians moved alongside Fiona, continuously unleashing freeze breath and heat vision to mow down the newly appeared enemies.

The remaining Kryptonians tore apart the continents of Huixin Star, hurling the small landmasses they ripped free straight at the Boom Tubes.

In moments, the area around the God Kingdom's forces had become a core ringed by countless colossal craters.

Astra lifted dozens of kilometers of earth with both hands and slammed it directly into the nearest Boom Tube.

The result—aside from the shattering boulders and falling debris crushing a considerable number of enemies—was no damage to the Boom Tube itself at all.

Seeing this, Astra frowned and let out a roar.

"The core of this teleportation method must not be in our current plane. No point wasting more time on it.

We'll simply surround every portal and keep them from interfering with the magnetic device's operation!"

"Understood!"

"Got it!"

The Kryptonians moved at once. Countless boulders instantly sealed off every Boom Tube's landing point, hemming them in completely.

The enemies emerging from the Boom Tubes never even got the chance to join the battle before they'd become fish in a barrel, slaughtered wholesale by the Kryptonians in the blink of an eye.

Meanwhile, at the very center of the God Kingdom's encircled forces, a Scholar—calm and elegant—clapped his hands.

A massive shockwave rippled outward from his hands, drawing the attention of many.

Once he saw he had most people's eyes on him, the Scholar said unhurriedly:

"The strong magnetic transformation device is now active. Startup time: two minutes. Focus on defense."

"Understood!"

Astra said softly over the comm channel, giving a small nod.

Hippolyta and Mera, meanwhile, paid no attention to the time at all.

The two of them raised their weapons in perfect unison.

"Everything else aside—kill every living thing that isn't us!"

"KILL!!!"

With one howl after another, the Kryptonians tore through the battlefield like blades, while the hundred-thousand-plus warriors became a meat grinder, rapidly pulverizing wave after wave of enemies.

At the edge of the battlefield, the superheroes really weren't used to this kind of slaughter.

Aside from Arthur and Diana, who were thoroughly enjoying themselves, everyone else was somewhat dazed.

Even Superman was bewildered. When life was dying before his eyes at a rate of hundreds of thousands per second...

Clark gritted his teeth hard, then instantly appeared beside a giant mammoth, bracing against its tusks with all his strength to halt its charge before it could trample the Amazons.

Beside him, Atlantean hydro-energy guns blew the mammoth apart completely. Blood and shredded flesh splattered across Clark's face and body.

He truly froze—otherwise, protected by his force field at all times, no filth could ever have touched him.

He shook his head in a daze, then with a flicker of his force field, the blood on his body dispersed in an instant, and he gradually steadied himself.

"This isn't a hero game, Kal-El! Spare these enemies, and it's your own comrades who die!!!"

Beside him, Diana roared at him.

Even as she shouted, Diana slammed her arms together, and a violent shockwave exploded outward from between them, shredding every enemy within several kilometers in front of her into pieces.

The sight made Clark nod heavily.

"I know!"

The moment his words fell, he finally hardened his heart. His eyes flashed wide, and surging heat vision erupted forth.

He simply hovered there in the sky, his heat vision leaping like crackling lightning.

The blinding red light plowed across the entire battlefield in an instant. The enemies who survived that single sweep numbered no more than three thousand!

The deaths of countless enemies made innumerable people look up, staring in shock at Clark unleashing his full power.

At the same time, Clark's voice—gradually turning cold and merciless—rang out.

"Global scan complete. Four hundred twenty-five Boom Tubes in total. Sixteen billion four hundred million hostile lifeforms.

Precision strikes will require..."

As his words fell, Clark's body rose higher, then his eyes flared, and the brilliant heat vision bloomed once more to its fullest.

At this moment, whether it was Brainiac in the planet's core, or Amazing Grace and Glorious Godfrey out in the cosmos beyond the star—they were all stabbed deep in the eyes by a heat vision that stretched across the entire globe!

After the red light passed, Brainiac was shocked to discover that not a single one of his standard biochemical mechanical soldiers remained.

As for his condensed-matter phantom weapons, they had been utterly dispersed into formless gas.

Even for a being who had become a fully intelligent lifeform, an unmistakable sense of displeasure rose within him.

Meanwhile, aboard the City of Thought, Godfrey silently pursed his lips.

"That's a top-tier powerhouse at the universal level, at minimum. I knew these Kryptonians would be nothing but trouble!"

As his words fell, Godfrey chuckled leisurely and patted his sister on the backside.

"If I'm not mistaken, this one will be exactly the type you like!"

"Of course. Unlike you, I don't collect just any trash.

I only take pleasure in toying with powerhouses like this in the palm of my hand!"

Grace laughed lewdly, then draped two silk scarves over herself and leisurely departed the City of Thought.

And when Grace set out, beneath Huixin Star's surface, Brainiac—who had been maintaining the form of a core hub all along—finally revealed his true body.

A special body interwoven with green skin, flesh, and silver metal slowly drifted out from the hub.

Atop its head and along its back, tentacles remained connected, supplying power.

Moments later, the body slowly opened its eyes, and the metal across its body began flickering with purple patterns.

As the purple patterns grew denser and denser, the tentacles at its head and back slowly broke away.

At the same time, the body clenched both fists and spoke without expression.

"Threat level: two. Deploying core construct. Rao Demon ship on standby. Mobius Strike on standby. Planetary defense mechanisms fully activated."

The moment its words fell, the God Kingdom's position in the distant northern hemisphere was suddenly targeted by over three hundred negative-ion turrets.

"Beware long-range bombardment!"

Abin, flying high above, called out a warning.

At his words, the Kryptonians all nodded in unison.

Fiona flew over to Astra's side in an instant.

"Keep your people here. We'll spread out across the globe!"

"Good!"

Astra nodded crisply, then extended her right hand toward the Amazons.

At her gesture, the Amazon women below immediately hurled their massive shields into the Kryptonians' hands.

The Rozburg Kryptonians under Astra's command took up the shields one by one, flying around the perimeter on constant alert.

At the same time, Fiona led forty-some Kryptonians, picking their angles with expert precision, spreading across Huixin Star and destroying every heavy weapon they could find along the way.

BOOM!!!

A thunderous blast—Astra's shield blocked an attack from a negative-ion emplacement.

Astra retreated two steps, and the ancient Olympian divine shield in her hand showed slight damage.

Immediately after, one explosion after another rang out, each accompanied by another attack intercepted.

While they held off the bombardment, the Scholars exchanged glances.

Moments later, gravity particles began condensing and reshaping in their hands.

After about a dozen or so seconds, two Scholars stepped forward, each wearing a heavy black armguard, positioning themselves at opposite ends of the God Kingdom's formation.

Facing the direction of the relentless assault, they raised their right hands to their chests.

"Fortress Mode!"

With their words, a continuously flowing semicircular particle barrier instantly materialized, shielding the entire force of over a hundred thousand.

"A positive-ion defense barrier will be especially effective against ion-based attacks. Any single piece of Kryptonian technology is enough to open my eyes."

Seeing this, Bruce pursed his lips beneath his armor. He suddenly leaped, covering several hundred meters in an instant, and slammed an enemy that was about to harm an Amazon warrior into the ground.

Then, powerful jets of air erupted from the elbow joints of his armor, and his next punch pounded the enemy before him into literal pulp.

Seeing Batman in action, the remaining strong enemies converged on him.

Cyborg's energy blasts bought Batman a brief reprieve, but most of the attacks ultimately landed on Batman's armor.

However, the kinetic energy contained in those attacks was instantly absorbed by the Thresher armor. Once the Thresher armor had stored enough energy, Batman opened the small batarang compartment on his belt.

Taking out batarangs that looked unchanged, Bruce hurled them out in one motion.

Powered by the Thresher armor's immense energy supply, dozens of batarangs instantly blanketed his predetermined targets.

The next moment, countless bursts of frost erupted from each small batarang.

Cold rivaling Kryptonian freeze breath locked a considerable number of enemies solid.

Batman then leaped high and came crashing down.

The instant he landed, a violent shockwave swept outward from him as the center.

The frozen enemies, struck by the shockwave, shattered into glistening powder—and that was the Thresher armor's process of absorbing and releasing energy.

Although the Thresher armor had been built in a relatively short time and its functions were still somewhat rudimentary, it was more than enough to support him on the current battlefield.

As for Batman killing people...

Pardon my laughter—this universe's Batman kills from the start.

As everyone knows, the cinematic universe's Master Bruce never shied away from guns and heavy weaponry.

And standing on a battlefield that was a true meat grinder, Bruce's heart had long since steeled itself for what was to come.

Watching Batman's swift and dashing adaptation, Arthur in the distance suddenly felt a bit flustered.

"Fuck, the guy swaps out his armor and it's like he's a whole different person?"

Arthur muttered, spinning his trident at high speed.

The next instant, his spinning trident continuously condensed water currents, and the countless attacks surging toward him were firmly blocked by his water.

Moments later, Arthur dropped his defense and skewered three enemies into a single shish kebab with one thrust of his trident.

As he shook the unknown enemies' corpses off his trident, Arthur scratched at his mask—because with his beard so thick, wearing a Kryptonian breathing mask...

it itched a little.
