I still wasn't sure why I'd pounced on Asa like that. I was a bit embarrassed at how much I'd needed to taste him mid-air. I hadn't been able to wait until we got to the hotel. Even now, I wanted more. There was something about being near him that made my body thrum constantly.
I'd reserved a suite, so there was plenty of room to avoid each other if we wanted to. But Asa showed no desire to do that. He made a point of pulling his suitcase into the big master bedroom. I was glad he was being so clear about what he wanted. It took the guesswork out of things for me that way.
I felt freer than usual in this new city. There were no reminders of Lukas other than the fact that Asa still wore his clothes. But that was a small thing to overcome with the taste of Asa fresh on my tongue.
As I unpacked some things into one of the drawers of the dresser, I said, "I'm supposed to go to dinner with some of the supervisors from the plant tonight."
