Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: Passionate as Fire

Charles, who had changed his clothes, came out of the room, ready to return to the banquet hall with Marion Cotillard.

"Charles Capet, filmmaker!" Charles introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you, I hope I haven't affected your mood," Marion Cotillard said with a smile.

Charles shook his head, "It doesn't matter. Are you the Lady in the French film Love Me If You Dare?"

"Oh, you've seen Love Me If You Dare? I heard not many people watched it in the United States," Marion Cotillard's Love Me If You Dare premiered in France last year, and was released in the United States in February this year.

The box office in France was good, with 5.2 million euro, which is about 6.2 million US dollars; but the box office in the United States was only 550,000 US dollars.

"Love Me If You Dare received high praise, and your performance was excellent," Charles said, looking at Marion Cotillard again, who should be around 30.

She rose to fame from the Taxi series and had been filming in Europe. Love Me If You Dare must have been discovered by many Hollywood filmmakers.

"Thank you, I recognized you too. Charles Capet of Capet Pictures. lost in translation and my big fat greek wedding are both your films. It seems Capet Pictures also invested in the passion of the christ, which was released earlier, right?" Marion Cotillard responded truthfully, looking at the handsome Charles.

Charles nodded and smiled, "How about we go for a drink? I've been in the United States all this Time, and this is my first Time at the Cannes Film Festival."

"Aren't we going back to the banquet hall?" Marion Cotillard knew that these banquet halls were platforms for various film and other transactions.

"Don't worry about it, there are still people from the company there," Charles said, raising his arm. Marion Cotillard enthusiastically linked her arm with Charles's and headed to the bar.

french women are passionate. After Charles and Marion finished their Time at the bar, they naturally returned to Charles's hotel that night for a deeper exchange.

Blue sky, white clouds, beaches, sunshine, and beautiful women – this scene formed the magnificent view of Cannes.

In the penthouse suite of the Ritz-Carlton Resort in the early morning, Charles, rolling off Marion Cotillard, embraced the Lady with a satisfied expression.

"I think I'm starting to like France!" Last night with Marion Cotillard was truly a wonderful night, and he almost couldn't control himself this morning.

"Are you feeling the romance of France, or the passion of french women?" Marion Cotillard hugged Charles, feeling his abdominal muscles while smiling and asking him.

"Hmm, both!" Charles smiled. French men are indeed far inferior to french women.

After all, even the patent belonging to men, the French army, can only win battles under the leadership of french women and foreigners.

No one can defeat the French army before they surrender!

Just like in the entertainment industry, French male actors are generally not presentable, while excellent and beautiful actresses appear continuously.

"Charles, what do you think of French cinema?"

"French cinema, the large number of filmmakers who emerged during the New Wave era are still good. It's not an exaggeration to say it's the leader of European art house films," Charles didn't have a prejudice against art house films, it's just that what Charles values now is commercial cinema.

"France's eternal goddess Sophie Marceau, perhaps she is my biggest impression of French cinema!" Charles then added with a smile.

"Hollywood films are globally commercialized, and the film industry is number one in the world. European cinema is currently difficult to compete with Hollywood!"

Marion Cotillard agreed with this view. No matter what, one needs to be in Hollywood to prove an actress's worth and achieve dreams.

"I'm involved in a French war film that Warner Bros. is currently producing, and Audrey Tautou is the female lead. She's officially entering Hollywood. Do you have any suggestions?" Marion Cotillard asked.

"No specific advice. Hollywood has its own set of film industry standards, where box office is king, and the opportunities for European female stars are not as good as for local actresses," Charles thought for a moment, then continued to remind her,

"European female stars who take the sexy route are already facing severe traffic. To stand out, they need to showcase their acting skills in limited opportunities."

She should follow Juliette Binoche's path, relying on acting skills to gain trust in Hollywood. Otherwise, a sexy and alluring Eva Green, after Hollywood, can only display her sex appeal in films, and the resources she gets will become increasingly poor.

"I used to take the sexy route, and found it difficult to make a name for myself even in France. It was only last year's Love Me If You Dare that made me feel famous," Marion said with a smile, resting her head on Charles's chest.

"There will be opportunities. Didn't France also produce the dreamers last year? The new actress Eva Green in it was remembered by many people for her explicit performance," Charles said, secretly longing for this dark goddess of France.

"Didn't she directly star this year in the medieval epic war blockbuster kingdom of heaven, directed by the great director Ridley Scott, with Orlando Bloom, who has been very popular in Hollywood these past few years, as the male lead!"

However, the scale of the dreamers was truly quite large. In the United States, it was rated NC-17, and a little more would have made it an X-rating.

Isabelle Adjani, Sophie Marceau, and now France has Eva Green; they are all globally renowned sexy female stars.

Marion Cotillard smiled, "You're going back to the United States after the Film Festival, aren't you?"

Charles nodded. He was indeed returning to the United States a few days after the Film Festival, but Charles was also planning to bet on the European Championship winner in France!

"How about you be my tour guide these few days? I won't go back immediately after the closing ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival; I'll stay for a few more days!" Charles certainly needed a female companion, didn't he?

"Sounds good. Do you want to go to Paris for a few days then?" Marion Cotillard agreed.

"If there's Time, we can go see it. I've never actually been to Paris," Charles didn't have the opportunity before, and he's been in the United States for the past three years.

"Let's get up. As the closing ceremony approaches, it's Time for all the big stars to arrive," Charles said, then threw back the covers and got out of bed.

He walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, directly facing the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. No wonder wealthy people love to come to these places for vacation and enjoyment.

"Those are Sainte-Marguerite Island and Saint-Honorat Island, managed by Cannes. The scenery there is beautiful," Marion also came to the window, pointing to the two islands in the direction Charles was looking.

"Is that Sainte-Marguerite Island the prison location where Louis XIV imprisoned his brother, Philip, the Man in the Iron Mask, in Dumas' novel?" Charles asked, looking at the large island.

"Oh, some people say that, but it's just a fictional character from a novel. It can certainly attract a lot of tourists to the island," Marion explained casually.

Charles put his arm around the Lady's shoulder, looked at the scenery on the Mediterranean Sea, and said, "We should rent a private yacht and go out to sea for a few days!"

"Good idea!"
