ECLIPSE
Dawn had barely cracked when Eclipse heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps in her garden.
She tensed, wounding up like an animal on the hunt for what hunts it.
A curt knock came to her door at the same time. And the door drew open, revealing Anna who looked like she hadn't slept a wink last night.
Eclipse could relate… she hadn't slept a wink either. Although their reasons couldn't be said to be the same.
Anna's eyes still held residues of the fear that Eclipse had injected in her last night.
"My Lady." She greeted, unable to keep away the whisper of malice in her tone.
"Anna." Eclipse drawled, refusing to be the first to address the elephant in the room.
Anna cleared her throat.
"Your mission last night….?" She trailed off, eyes searching the room as if Rooster was laid waiting somewhere at the corner.
"It was a failure." Eclipse answered blandly.
Silence followed the declaration.
"She's dead." She added without emotion.
