"Everything is funny," Kiran sneered. He leaned back on the couch, one leg slung over the armrest like he was watching a show. His posture was loose, but his eyes were sharp, missing nothing. "All of you are funny," he added without fear.
"Alex, you are asking what is funny!" Alex flinched at being called by his name. Kiran was used to calling him fish brain or stupid and sometimes loud mammal. Hearing his actual name only happened when Kiran was serious. It always meant something was about to hurt.
"You guys are funny. This scholar is asking that woman what a mess the life provided?" Kiran stated while pointing at Nathan as a scholar, then at Cassen as a woman. He grinned, not kind. The grin didn't reach his eyes. It never did.
Kiran was used to giving people strange and weird nicknames. The only person he called by name was Chloe.
