Leon's Pov:
"I didn't think you'd actually show up."
I didn't look up immediately. I kept my eyes on the document in front of me, pretending like I was finishing something important, even though I hadn't read a single line since he walked in.
"I almost didn't," I replied.
I closed the file and finally leaned back in my chair.
Rico stood across from me like he owned the place. Same relaxed posture, same slight smile, same look in his eyes that always made it seem like he knew something you didn't. His tactics at intimidations always worked somehow.
It had been years and somehow, he still looked exactly the same.
"You look good," he said, glancing around my office. "Better than good, actually. Big office, nice view, clean life."
"It's called moving on," I said flatly.
He chuckled under his breath.
"Is that what we're calling it now?"
I didn't respond, because I already knew where this was going.
