Unfortunately, although the submarine warship Brian was on offered excellent defense and concealment, its speed simply couldn't compare to that of top-tier pirate ships.
And changes often arise from these imperceptible shifts.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Suddenly, the warship's alarm system emitted a piercing shriek!
"Master! A massive biological signature has been detected ahead! Its size is several times that of the warship!" Maid One's voice came through, followed by her slightly flustered emergence from the cabin as she hurriedly delivered the report.
Beside them, aside from Brian and the three Mythical Zoan Beast Girls, the pupils of all the other Beast Girls instantly contracted. Those with insufficient strength even began to show signs of panic on their faces.
Outside the porthole, the once pitch-black seawater was suddenly engulfed by an enormous shadow.
Immediately after, eight tentacles, as thick as mountain ranges and covered in massive suckers, emerged from the darkness. They carried a primitive and violent force as they coiled toward the submarine warship.
It was none other than the legendary sea demon, the calamity of the seas—Kraken!
Kraken's massive eyes, like two enormous deep-sea lanterns, emitted a bloodthirsty red glow, filled with curiosity and greed for the iron hulk before it.
"The Sea Demon Kraken, huh? Speak of the devil, and he shall appear."
Brian watched the colossal octopus sea demon with great interest, finding it quite novel.
Such a deep-sea behemoth had appeared once in the original story, but looking at it now, the two seemed somewhat different.
"This Kraken's expression seems fiercer than the one in the original story. Are they the same creature?"
"Logically, they should be the same, but the contrast is quite stark."
A deep-sea behemoth of this size should, in theory, be unique. It's unlikely for there to be two identical ones.
Brian decided to test this creature's mettle.
On the warship, Berlos's body erupted with copious amounts of orange-black flames, resonating with the flames on Agni's body. The temperature inside the specially designed bridge rose rapidly.
Meanwhile, Leona's body began to shimmer with faint hues of yellow and green. Her longbow was already drawn, energy swiftly gathering into an arrow, ready to be fired at any moment.
Aside from these three leaders, the other Beast Girls were also prepared for battle.
Those with insufficient strength, such as the Cow Girl and Otohime, quickly moved to Brian's side to avoid becoming a hindrance.
As for the maids, it was simpler—they firmly grasped onto the warship around them to avoid being thrown off, waiting for the battle to conclude.
"How fascinating. I never expected such a massive monster in the deep sea. Judging by its strength, it doesn't seem inferior to us, Agni." Berlos's flames continued to burn, but her expression remained relatively relaxed as she casually remarked to Agni, who had come to her side.
"Hmm, I am indeed surprised. If we were to fight in these deep sea depths, we truly wouldn't have the advantage. After all, this is the deep sea."
Agni's expression turned slightly grave. In the deep sea, the Beast Girls faced significant limitations.
No matter what, they were still considered Zoan-type Devil Fruit Users, and they too were affected by seawater, though the weakening effect was relatively smaller.
Leona remained silent, still gripping her longbow tightly, her expression solemn.
Amidst this tense moment, Brian stood firmly in place, unmoving. He did not raise his hand to issue an attack command.
He simply watched calmly as the eight tentacles, carrying the power to destroy everything, were about to touch the hull of the submarine warship.
The next second, an invisible, icy, and savage force erupted from Brian as its center, instantly spreading in all directions!
It was absolute domination, the will to reign supreme—his Conqueror's Haki, refined to a certain degree!
Brian's Conqueror's Haki struck like a shockwave in the deep sea, precisely hitting Kraken's massive, bloodthirsty eyes and spirit.
Boom—!
The moment his Conqueror's Haki erupted, Kraken's enormous body suddenly stiffened!
Its eight tentacles, originally brimming with power, seemed to have all their strength drained in an instant, falling limp and listless. They were mere centimeters away from touching the warship.
Kraken's massive eyes instantly shifted from a bloodthirsty red glow to extreme fear and shock. Its originally ferocious gaze suddenly turned clear.
Its colossal body began trembling uncontrollably in the deep sea.
Kraken clearly sensed the will contained within this Haki: submit or be destroyed!
The expressions of the Beast Girl Legion immediately relaxed. As expected of their master, handling it so effortlessly.
Otohime widened her eyes in disbelief. She had never imagined that the legendary deep-sea Siren could be frightened to such an extent by a human's aura!
Brian raised his hand and gently tapped on the porthole. His voice, amplified through the bridge's specialized speakers, clearly conveyed his message to Kraken.
"Your size is decent. Your speed is too slow." Brian's tone carried an unquestionable command: "From now on, you are responsible for towing this ship. Take us away from these deep sea depths at your fastest speed."
Kraken's giant eyes flickered a few times in the deep sea. It seemed to sense Brian's abyss-like Haki and killing intent.
Without the slightest hesitation, its eight massive tentacles, originally meant for destruction, carefully wrapped around the hull of the submarine warship, treating it like the most fragile treasure.
Immediately after, Kraken's enormous body exerted force, like a giant whale in the deep sea, towing the black submersible warship at a speed several times faster than the ship itself. It swiftly swam upward toward the sea's surface, heading in the direction of the New World!
Brian's gaze, through the porthole, calmly watched Kraken's massive figure straining to tow the ship in the darkness.
The deep-sea scenery rapidly receded behind them due to Kraken's towing.
"Confirmed, it really is that Kraken from the original story. Its change was incredibly fast, becoming obedient in an instant."
Kraken's sudden shift to being subservient and clear-eyed earlier proved that the behavior seen decades later in the original story wasn't its first time.
This deep-sea behemoth was truly cunning, pulling off this act.
As the Kraken accelerated, the warship swiftly passed through the dark undersea volcanic cluster, revealing a variety of deep-sea creatures in all shapes and forms.
Some of the smaller Sea Kings, sensing the immense pressure of Conqueror's Haki emanating from Brian through the Kraken, retreated one after another, not daring to approach in the slightest.
Countless deep-sea volcanoes came into view, with a small portion even showing signs of eruption, as deep-sea magma flowed everywhere.
Otohime silently watched all of this. She had never felt so clearly the power and will of Brian, which far surpassed that of ordinary people. It was an absolute hegemony capable of dominating the strongest creatures in the natural world.
"Master—" Otohime finally mustered the courage and softly asked, "What exactly is your goal?"
Brian turned around, the dim light illuminating his face, which carried a hint of sinister charm.
"My goal?" Brian softly repeated the words, his eyes filled with contempt for the world.
"Conquest! To completely conquer this world, to make all proud creatures bow beneath my banner."
"Just like that Siren outside!"
Dragged by the Kraken, the warship shot through the darkness of the deep sea like an arrow released from a bow.
Each voyage brought Brian one step closer to his ultimate ambition.
The prelude to the New World was quietly unfolding in this high-speed journey through the deep sea.
