After a while, Gohan returned home to Mount Paozu.

Nearby, Goku was training.

"Gohan!"
Goku rushed over with excitement as King Kai parked his car and walked over as well.

"'Sacrifice' doesn't sound like the name of a harmless technique."

"What aren't you telling us?"

"The masked man is targeting me and as long as I'm around, everyone else could become a target too."

"The technique works by exchanging one life for another."
Goku's smile vanished.
"Dad comes back to life and I die."

"Then, one year later, everyone can use the Blood Dragon Balls to revive me and Problem solved."

Gohan looked away.
The truth was simple that During his time on Yardrat, he had learned many forbidden techniques.
Some were ancient and Some were dangerous and some had not been used for thousand perhaps millions of years.
Sacrifice was one of them.

After thinking about it repeatedly, he had narrowed the possibilities down to three.
The first possibility was that the masked figure was the original Gohan from Future Trunks' timeline.
The second possibility was even stranger.
Perhaps he was the original Gohan of this timeline the one whose existence had somehow become separated from Gohan after their merger.
Normally, that shouldn't have been possible but then again him getting isekaid Shouldn't Possible but it did and this was the Dragon Ball universe.
A place where magical dragons granted wishes, gods destroyed universes, and time travel somehow made everything even more confusing.
At this point, Gohan had stopped trying to apply common sense to everything and The third possibility worried him the most.
What if the masked man was himself? A future version of him maybe a version who had slowly fallen into darkness and become something completely different.
Well None of the possibilities were good and that was exactly why Gohan needed time to think and investigate and most importantly, time away from Earth.
If the masked man was truly targeting him, then staying on Earth would only put everyone else in danger.
As Gohan continued thinking, his thoughts were interrupted by Goku's voice.
"Gohan."
Gohan blinked in surprise hearin the tone of his father who was looking directly at him and For once, there wasn't a smile on Goku's face.
His expression was completely serious even King Kai looked surprised and Seeing Goku this serious was a rare sight.
"Gohan," Goku repeated. "Are you absolutely sure about this?"
as His voice was calm but there was concern behind it.
"If you're in danger, tell me and I don't care about the rules and If I have to break them, I will and if I have to risk myself to help you, then that's what I'll do."
King Kai's eyes widened hearing that as Goku rarely spoke like this but when it came to his family, especially Gohan, he was always different.
Gohan smiled as a genuine smile.
"Thanks, Dad, But trust me, I've thought this through."
Then he reached into his storage space and pulled out a Capsule Corp capsule as He tossed it to Goku.
Goku caught it easily.
"Huh?"
He turned it over in his hand.
"What's this?"

Gohan smiled.
"Inside are about forty thousand Senzu Beans, several spaceships, supplies, and a gravity chamber."
Goku nearly dropped the capsule.
"FORTY THOUSAND?!"
King Kai almost fell over.

"Yeah,and Mom enough money to live comfortably for 1000 year's so you can Train anytime you want and there are extra supplies inside too like Mountain Worth of Gold, Diamond etc."
Goku stared at the capsule and then he looked back at Gohan.
"That's a lot of stuff."
"I know, I'm leaving it with you."
Goku scratched his cheek.
"All right! I'll keep it safe and when you come back, I'll return everything."
Gohan shook his head.
"You don't have to you see that now I can make more Senzu Beans anytime and can build more spaceships and I can earn more money just Think of it as a gift."
Goku smiled and nodded.

Then Gohan's expression softened.
"One more thing dad When Mom asks where I am..."

"Tell her I went off to train and Tell her I'm traveling around the universe for a year as I don't want her worrying."

King Kai's eyes widened then The transfer had begun and as more and more life force left him, Gohan's body became weaker and His vision blurredand breathing grew shallow.
Finally Thud.
Gohan collapsed onto the ground as His consciousness began fading away and The ten-times gravity of King Kai's planet felt infinitely heavier than before.
Darkness slowly swallowed his vision and At the same time, something else happened.
The halo above Goku's head started glowing as The ring of light became brighter and brighter.
Then It disappeared which mean Goku had been revived.
A surge of life rushed through his body and The damage he had carried since his death vanished instantly and the heart virus that had once claim his life was erased.
Every injury, weakness and Every trace of death itself all of it disappeared and His body was restored to perfect condition.
Stronger than it had ever been before and The immense life force Gohan had given him had revitalized every part of him.
Slowly, Goku opened his eyes and For a moment, he stared at his hands as He could feel it that he was alive again and then his expression changed.
"Gohan?"
Goku turned around as His heart immediately sank seeing Gohan was lying motionless on the ground.
There was no movement, heartbeat, ki.
"Gohan!"
Goku rushed forward and dropped to his knees as he carefully lifted his son and held him in his lap.
His hands trembled and For perhaps the first time in years, genuine fear appeared on Goku's face.
He had always faced danger with a smile and fought impossible battles without giving up but this was different.
His son had willingly given his life for him as Tears began gathering in Goku's eyes.
"Gohan..."
His voice shook as King Kai stood frozen as he He looked at Gohan's lifeless body in complete shock.
The technique had actually worked and Then suddenly
"So it worked ?"
Both Goku and King Kai blinked at Fimilliar Voice.
"What?"
They immediately turned toward the source of the voice and Standing a short distance away was another Gohan.
A metallic Gohan.
"Huh?!"
Goku's jaw dropped as He looked at the metal Gohan and then at Gohan's dead body.
Then back at the metal Gohan.
"HUH?!"
King Kai was equally surprised.
Meanwhile,
Metal Gohan simply scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Oh, right. I forgot to explain that part."
Goku pointed at him.
"Gohan?!"
Metal Gohan nodded.
"Sort of."

"Wait !The Meda's body!"
"Exactly."
Metal Gohan smiled.
"When I linked my mind to the Medak body, part of my consciousness became connected to it."
He glanced toward his own lifeless body as a faint halo had already begun forming above the corpse's head.
"Looks like the main me is dead."
He said it so casually that both Goku and King Kai stared at him.
"But because part of my consciousness is still connected to this body, I didn't completely disappear."
Metal Gohan tapped his chest.
"So I'm still here."
"Well, partially, anyway."
Goku looked completely confused.
"So you're alive?"
"Not exactly."
"so you are Dead Gohan?"
"Also not exactly."
King Kai sighed hearing that and said .
"Only you could somehow find a way to be both dead and alive at the same time."
Metal Gohan laughed.
"Yeah, that sounds about right."
Despite the joke, his eyes drifted toward his original body and For a moment, his smile faded.
The Sacrifice Technique had worked and his dad Goku was alive again.
But the price had been real as His original body and most of his soul was in Limbo.
And now, for the next year, only this metallic vessel remained to carry a fragment of his consciousness.
Until the day he could finally return.
