Chapter 92: The Benefactor

[Ding! Congratulations, Host! The perk — Western Blabbermouth King has reached max level. Go check out its effects!]

?

???

"Wait, seriously? Arthur alone was enough to max this out for me?"

"That's insane."

Ignoring Arthur for a moment, Johnny turned his attention to the new effects of the perk:

[Purple ☆ Western Blabbermouth King] (Max Level)

[As a Gunslinger, your mouth can also be your weapon. perk Effects: ① Your insults can break a person's composure to the maximum extent. ② Your words hit the soul directly, like a final whisper.]

It seemed that maxing out a purple perk granted an additional effect.

Unfortunately, there hadn't been many opportunities to level up [Dead Eye] lately; in truth, no other perk was as useful as that one.

"Hey, Oliver! Don't you plan on heading inside to loot and find those rich spoils that belong to you?"

Arthur teased with a smile, looking at the generous benefactor before him.

Oliver began issuing orders to his men in an orderly fashion: "

First, search the bodies of those fellows outside thoroughly. Pack everything that could be used by the poor into the wagon over here and take it away.

Move fast, but be careful. Don't miss anything useful—though we don't need those broken guns or underwear!"

With that, Oliver strode toward the house.

Once inside, he couldn't wait to start rummaging through the drawers in every corner.

However, after a period of busy searching, he shook his head with a face full of disappointment—it seemed these drawers didn't hide any particularly valuable treasures.

Just then, Johnny, standing to the side, whispered a reminder:

"Perhaps you could check that chimney. You might find an unexpected harvest there."

Hearing this, Oliver nodded as if waking from a dream and quickly walked over to the chimney.

When he reached his hand into the dark chimney, he suddenly felt his fingertips touch some paper-like objects.

His heart leaped with joy, and he quickly pulled outward. Sure enough, several bills were dragged out of the chimney with his movement.

Oliver looked closely—it was a full 610 dollars! At that moment, he was so excited he could hardly contain himself, dancing around like a child.

At the same time, he kept muttering: "Wow! This is the first time in my life I've earned so much money through my own efforts! This feeling is simply wonderful, marvelous!"

In his excitement, Oliver carefully smoothed out the 610 dollars one by one and placed them with great care into another empty wallet.

It was as if this wasn't just a sum of money, but a priceless honor and achievement on his life's path.

Then he walked over and said to Johnny:

"Thank you very much, Mr. Van der Linde! If it weren't for your help and support, I'm afraid my dream would be difficult to realize.

In return, I have decided to gift you some machinery and equipment that are essential for opening a shop.

This is not only a high recognition of your excellent planning skills but also an expression of my heartfelt gratitude!"

As he spoke, he looked at Johnny with a face full of smiles.

Next, he turned his head toward John and the other man standing nearby and said:

"Oh, right, you two young men, I also must thank you for your hard work!" After saying that, he reached into his exquisite wallet, took out 800 dollars, handed it all to Johnny, and explained:

"This extra two hundred dollars is specifically to reward these two young men for their diligent scouting efforts during this time.

Moreover, I heard Mr. Callahan mention that you are actually an excellent Gunsmith!

So, I don't want those firearms scattered on the ground. Consider them a small investment for you, a budding novice Gunsmith.

Besides that, I plan to take all the tables and chairs in the house to give to the poor beggars on the streets of Saint Denis, so they too can feel a bit of warmth and care."

As soon as he finished speaking, he impatiently turned and walked toward the door, seemingly going to find his men to help move the furniture.

However, what was quite comical was that he seemed to have completely forgotten that in the corner of the room, two people were currently tied up and unable to move.

Seeing this, John and Kieran exchanged a look and nodded in tacit understanding, then quickly walked out the door together to start gathering the worn-out firearms.

Meanwhile, Arthur, who remained in the house, craned his neck, watching with great interest to see how Johnny would deal with those two unlucky fellows who were tied up tight.

Johnny shook his head helplessly, muttering to himself:

"Sigh, that guy Arthur really can't change his habit of wanting to watch the drama!"

There was nothing he could do; he knew Arthur as well as he knew himself.

He then stepped toward the two bound men.

Reaching them, Johnny first extended his right hand, grabbed the cloth strip over one man's mouth, and yanked it off.

Immediately after, he reached out and tore off the cloth from the other man's mouth.

Then, he crouched down and carefully untied the ropes binding their hands one by one.

After finishing, Johnny stood up and neatly coiled the two ropes together, preparing to put them into my dog's saddlebag later.

He thought to himself: "Can't let such good ropes go to waste; they might be very useful later."

At this point, the two men who had gained their freedom scrambled to their feet, repeatedly thanking the two of them:

"Thank you, heroes, for your help! If it weren't for you, the two of us would have been done for at the hands of that damnable ODriscoll Gang today!

Those guys are more persistent than bloodhounds. My brother and I hid so well, deep in a mountain gully, but they still managed to find us!"

"By the way, are you policemen? Why aren't you wearing uniforms?" Just as he finished speaking, the man seemed to realize something, and his face instantly turned pale.

Just by looking at the way these two were dressed and Arthur's powerful, intimidating stance, he could clearly tell they were no saints.

At that moment, Johnny slowly pulled a pistol from his waist and began meticulously wiping the gun oil off it.

He kept his head down, fully focused on maintaining the firearm, while responding nonchalantly:

"Don't misunderstand, I untied you because I wanted these two brand new ropes, not to save you.

Also, I just so happen to be in great need of some Brewing Equipment. Don't you think this is a gift from heaven?"

As he spoke, Johnny's thumb slightly pulled back the hammer:

"Thank you both for your contribution. And so, goodnight!"

"Wait, wait, wait! If you need equipment, you definitely need workers who know how to brew, right? Right?"

The two of them pleaded for mercy while moving closer to Johnny. At this point, they could only take a gamble!
