Chapter 92 - Chapter 91: John's Return

Chapter 91: John's Return

With Oliver taking the lead by pulling the trigger and letting out a crisp gunshot, this lopsided and predictable battle officially began!

Arthur was seen riding far ahead of the others at the forefront, the pair of Double-action Revolvers in his hands shining with golden light, spitting fire like lightning snakes.

In an instant, six streaks of fire shot out, and in the blink of an eye, the firearms in the hands of six enemies were sent flying.

Afterward, Arthur's figure flickered as he nimbly hid behind a thick, sturdy tree, methodically reloading his bullets.

It had to be admitted that the combination of the Double-action Revolver's astonishing rate of fire and Arthur's superhuman accuracy resulted in a powerful combat capability that could only be described as 'invincible'!

At the same time, John descended like a Reaper of Death, gripping a Navy Revolver in each hand, firing with both arms in a full-throttle barrage.

His shooting rhythm was highly rhythmic, with gunshots ringing out from both the left and right sides almost simultaneously.

Furthermore, his accuracy was exceptionally precise; anyone hit would have blood-red flowers bloom on both arms simultaneously, a scene both bloody and shocking.

Clearly, John was putting in so much effort this time because he seemed to want to prove to his elder brother, Arthur, that he had made a strong return.

By contrast, Kieran's performance in the rear appeared quite dismal.

He held a carbine repeating rifle and fired six consecutive shots.

Yet only one bullet grazed an enemy's body at an extremely awkward angle, causing nothing more than a negligible scratch.

Such terrible marksmanship would probably make even Sean, the master of 'human body outlining,' feel ashamed!

Since Johnny knew beforehand that the loot wouldn't belong to him, he simply gave up on the idea of going all out and instead started a leisurely life of slacking off.

He followed lazily behind the group, occasionally raising his firearm and firing two random shots to knock down enemies attempting to hide behind the brewery wagons.

Fortunately, the ones charging ahead and bravely killing enemies were Arthur and John; they were fully concentrated on dealing with the enemies before them and had no time at all to notice Johnny's passive and lazy behavior.

Otherwise, with Old Arthur's relentless tongue, he would have definitely launched round after round of fierce verbal attacks at Johnny without mercy.

This incredibly intense battle lasted for over ten minutes before finally coming to a slow close.

The entire battlefield was permeated with a strong, pungent scent of blood, which had already stained the land a startling dark red.

The reason why this battle took so long was actually quite bizarre.

It was because even when facing those ODriscoll Gang lackeys who had already lost the ability to resist and were like lambs to the slaughter,

the privileged Young Master Oliver still performed clumsily.

For every enemy he took down, he needed an average of three or four bullets.

While everyone was in the heat of battle, Johnny, who was in the rear, quietly activated his Eagle Eye and began to carefully count the number of enemy corpses lying haphazardly on the ground.

After the battle ended, he was surprised to find that the total number of corpses here was only 41.

It seemed the situation still hadn't changed at all; just as described in the plot, that cunning fellow was still hiding inside the wooden cabin, remaining still and waiting for an opportunity to launch a sudden attack.

Just then, a furious Arthur, like an enraged lion, strode aggressively toward the tightly closed door, looking as if he was prepared to force his way in... right at that moment, the camper inside heard the commotion and directly preempted Arthur's move.

With a loud 'Bang,' the sturdy wooden door was violently kicked open from the inside by a massive force!

Arthur, standing at the door, was clearly caught off guard; he was knocked to the ground by the sudden impact, falling clumsily onto his back.

Immediately after, a figure rushed out like a ghost, holding a shiny carbine repeating rifle high, with the dark muzzle pointed straight at the fallen Arthur.

A sinister sneer appeared on the man's face, and his eyes revealed a chilling sense of triumph and arrogance, as if he were showing off his newly achieved feat to the world!

However, at this critical juncture, something unexpected happened—another deafening 'Bang' rang out, but the one injured wasn't Arthur.

Instead, it was another unfortunate character: poor Potter! For some reason, Potter, who had been full of confidence and wanted to deliver a fatal blow to the enemy, had actually missed.

Before he could even pull the trigger to fire that life-or-death bullet, he was struck by a bullet and died, saying goodbye to this world forever.

Looking back at Arthur, after experiencing such a soul-stirring scene, he lay flat on the cold ground as if he had just escaped death, gasping for breath and staring blankly at the sky with hollow eyes.

It was as if he were silently lamenting the fickleness of fate and the unpredictability of life in his heart.

"Are you alright? Mr. Callahan!" Just then, a concerned voice came from nearby.

It turned out that Kieran had arrived on the scene just in time. Hearing the other's greeting, Arthur regained his senses slightly and responded weakly:

"Sure, thank you, Kieran." After saying this, even Arthur himself felt a bit surprised, because this was the first time in his life he had spoken to Kieran in such a grateful tone.

At the same time, Johnny, who had been in the rear to prevent accidents, could no longer contain himself.

He swaggered over, every step filled with arrogance and conceit, looking exactly like someone who looked down on everyone else.

Upon reaching him, Johnny stopped and looked down condescendingly at Arthur, who was still lying on the ground. A mocking smile played on his lips as he said in a sarcastic tone:

"Oh, look who it is! Isn't this our so-called 'invincible' Mr. Callahan? Why are you lying here so obediently right now, like a terrified little rabbit?

Hahahahaha..." At this point, Johnny seemed to remember something funny and burst into loud laughter, which echoed through the empty surroundings and sounded particularly piercing.

After he finished laughing, he continued: "Remember what I told you back at the Adler Ranch?

I said that sooner or later, you would trip up over a small matter like opening a door. Well? It's come true now, hasn't it?"

At this, Arthur immediately scrambled up and said angrily:

"Shut up, Johnny, close your damn mouth. I... I was just... being careless!"
