"Did you find it?"
The bald-headed warrior asked while frantically scanning the surroundings.
The younger man with gray hair shook his head.
"No. I found a snake, but it didn't match the description."
The older warrior clicked his tongue in irritation.
"Why does it even matter which snake bit her? Treating her should be the priority right now."
His frustration was obvious.
His duty was to protect the lady, yet instead of guarding her side during an emergency, he was out here searching for a snake like a fool.
The younger warrior spoke cautiously,
"But Senior... he did save Lord Claw's life."
There was genuine belief in his voice.
"He's a real medic. Someone with actual knowledge. If even the Chief trusts him, shouldn't we trust his judgment too?"
The bald man let out a heavy sigh before resting his hands on his waist.
Slowly, he looked back toward the distant tree where Roxanne remained seated on the ground.
Even from afar, he could see parts of her trembling figure.
