With that thought, Chu Yao felt relieved.
Composing herself, Chu Yao turned to look at Qin Ningning in the back seat. "Ningning, I'm sorry. I think I had the wrong person."
Qin Ningning was very shy—she'd always been that way. She smiled at Chu Yao and shook her head, indicating that she didn't mind.
Back at the villa, Lu Xize helped bring Qin Ningning's luggage inside, which once again made her look flustered and deferential.
The two friends, who hadn't seen each other in a long time, both showered and then curled up on the living room sofa to chat. Lu Xize gave them their space. Ever the gentleman, he brought them two plates of cut fruit before retreating to his study to attend to his work.
Only when Lu Xize's figure disappeared at the top of the stairs did Qin Ningning seem to relax. She grabbed Chu Yao's hand, her smile sweet but still unable to mask her shy demeanor. "Chuchu, it's so nice that you're doing this well."
"Hm? What do you mean?"
