Chu Yao stared wide-eyed at everything around her. Each detail was both unfamiliar and familiar.
Her eyes started to burn, but not enough to bring her to tears. A torrent of emotions churned within her, impossible to express, finding their only outlet in the silent warmth welling in her eyes.
Suddenly, Chu Yao felt a tightness around her waist as Lu Xize wrapped his arms around her. His voice came from over her head, "Do you love it?"
Chu Yao's lips parted, but no words came out. After a couple of seconds, she finally steadied herself. "I love it."
'How could I not love something you prepared so thoughtfully for me?'
"So, when you told me to head home early, you were planning to bring me to see this house?"
"Mhm."
"Then why didn't you just say so?"
Suppressing the torrent of emotions in her heart, Chu Yao feigned a lighthearted, chiding tone.
'Lu Xize froze. Why is she reacting like this?'
'This isn't right.'
