Suddenly, they all understood that Aaron Xavier was the one most intimate with Zoe Pierce.
Nathan Lockwood's gaze darkened slightly as his eyes met Zoe's. Her vision was hazy for a moment before she decisively abandoned Aaron Xavier's side and slid onto the arm of the sofa.
"Zoe," Nathan Lockwood called to her.
Zoe's body swayed precariously. Hearing her name, she took the chance to slide down.
She landed right on his lap.
Nathan Lockwood looked down at the clearly drowsy Zoe and asked, "Isn't there anything you want to say to me?"
'She worries if Chase Shaw has a headache and does the most with Aaron Xavier… what about me?'
'Is there anything she wants to say?'
'Or what will she show concern for?'
The alcohol didn't show on his face; his cool, pale skin remained unchanged. Only his breath carried a faint scent of liquor as he spoke.
