It was a strange coincidence. Just as Zoe Pierce was talking with Miles Sherman and the others, they saw Nathan Lockwood and Aaron Xavier walking over from a distance—people they might not run into for days on end.
The whole team was assembled now, so there was no reason to stay outside.
The five of them went into the tent.
Inside were only three chairs and a simple army cot.
Zoe Pierce glanced around before sitting on the cot. There was room for one more person beside her.
The tent suddenly fell silent.
Zoe Pierce looked up at the others still standing. "Why aren't you sitting? Just take a seat anywhere."
Everyone's eyes fell on the empty spot next to her. With three chairs and one cot, one of them was bound to sit by her side.
"Zoe Pierce, can I sit next to you?" The first to speak, surprisingly, was Aaron Xavier.
He had an innocent and natural expression, as if it were the most normal request in the world.
