Aaron Xavier was probably the only person in the entire room who was calm right now.
Upon hearing Zoe Pierce's answer, he immediately asked, "Why did you pick Miles?"
Zoe Pierce glanced at him, then pointed to Miles Sherman, herself, and Aaron Xavier. "Big brother, big sister, little brother."
The serious older brother, the exasperated older sister, and the rebellious younger brother.
At a glance, the combination seemed perfectly natural.
The deeper reason was that Zoe Pierce felt that within the entire group, Miles Sherman was probably the only one willing to handle Aaron Xavier.
Chase Shaw and Nathan Lockwood would only speak up when Aaron got out of line, but Miles was different. He was like a natural older brother, possessing a gentleness he himself might not have even noticed. Despite his own exasperation, he would quietly look after people.
And Aaron Xavier responded well to that.
Zoe Pierce also found him unconsciously reliable.
