Chase Shaw's gaze shifted to the now-closed simulation room. "Just a spiritual power connection is enough to make you freak out?"
"Since when do you have so much on your mind?" Chase Shaw said, his face devoid of a smile. "What, does me getting close to her make you that uncomfortable?"
The smile vanished from Nathan Lockwood's handsome, refined face. "I just want to remind you that Zoe Pierce is our teammate."
Chase Shaw's gaze snapped back to him. "I know. So what if we made a spiritual power connection? If you wanted to, you could have let her connect to yours. I never stopped you."
He took a step toward Nathan Lockwood. "Do I need to remind you? Zoe Pierce's glands haven't recovered at all."
"Applying that whole Alpha-Omega playbook to her right now is a bit ridiculous, don't you think?" As Chase Shaw said this, it was unclear if he was trying to convince himself or Nathan Lockwood.
He knew better than anyone the true state of Zoe Pierce's glands.
