A murderous aura suddenly erupted from Longteng! He glared at Ling Xiao with a hostile expression, but Ling Xiao met his gaze without the slightest hint of weakness.
A sharp, piercing cry echoed from the sky as the clown dove unhesitatingly toward Longteng. Having not yet reached the Transformation Stage, the clown was completely immune to Longteng's draconic might.
Yet Longteng seemed almost fearful of the clown. He retracted his imposing aura just as the clown's massive talons grazed his scalp, tracing a graceful arc through the air. Then, it folded its huge wings and landed beside Ling Xiao, its piercing eyes fixed on Longteng.
Longteng stared into Ling Xiao's eyes, his anger still palpable. "Are you serious?"
Ling Xiao nodded. "Of course. In time, you'll learn... I'm not one for jokes."
Longteng's voice grew icy. "Ling Xiao, do you have any idea what the consequences would be if you said such things on Dragon Island?"
