Faye Vaughn finished her shower and came out of the bathroom.
She wrapped her damp hair in a towel and knocked on Liam Linden's door.
"Who?!"
Liam Linden jumped, shouting reflexively.
His back was pressed against the door as he tried to take deep breaths, struggling to calm an inappropriate physical reaction.
"It's me. Who else would it be?" Faye Vaughn said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. "I wanted to ask you if you have a hairdryer."
"I-I do..." Liam Linden coughed lightly twice, clearing his throat before saying, "Hang on, I'll get it for you."
He rummaged frantically through a cabinet, found the hairdryer, and took a few more deep breaths before opening the door.
The image of her snow-white skin was still seared into his mind.
He felt utterly despicable as a wave of guilt and desire churned within him.
