Seeing his older brother remain silent, Vincent Hawthorne spoke up. "If Vivian really wanted to do something to Faye Vaughn, why be so roundabout and rely on chance? If that human trafficker hadn't made a move, wouldn't her entire plan have fallen apart?"
Vivian Windsor's eyes were red-rimmed. She nodded and said, "If I really wanted to teach Miss Vaughn a lesson, wouldn't it be more reliable to hire someone myself?"
Faye Vaughn, however, let out a soft scoff.
'Only an idiot would get her own hands dirty.'
'Vivian Windsor was anything but stupid.'
'She seized an opportunity, added fuel to the fire, and would have walked away completely clean.'
"Miss Vaughn, I know you've been through a terrible ordeal and you're suffering. But you can't just make these wild accusations against me. I'm innocent!"
