Nerida stood frozen as Aeron's arms wrapped tightly around her. He lowered his head slightly, pressing it against her ear.

As he spoke, his hands slid down to circle her waist. "Wife, don't go."
The man's voice was a clear whisper in her ear. They were so close. Nerida could hear his powerful heartbeat and feel his solid chest.
She could feel Aeron's breath on her cheek. The warmth of it made her uncomfortable, and she couldn't help but turn her face away slightly. But he just pressed closer again.
