Celeste Grant felt that the World's Will might have misunderstood something.
All she had meant was for it to change its face to match the portrait. She never expected it to abandon Jocelyn Grant's body entirely and use the scroll to forge a completely new one.
'So... was this scroll some kind of treasure she didn't know about?'
'Darn it, what a blunder! It seems those novel tropes are important after all. Sometimes, the most unassuming things turn out to be incredible treasures. I'll have to pay more attention next time.'
At that moment, the young girl standing not far from her lifted the hem of her dress and spun around. She raised a hand to look at it, then touched her face, her eyes filled with joy and excitement as she looked down at herself.
The World's Will was truly happy. This was quite possibly the happiest she had been since her creation.
'This feels like my own body, one I was born with. Not something borrowed that doesn't feel like me at all.'
