Emperor Ruicheng had originally thought that upon arriving in the Northwest, he could flex his imperial might and thoroughly annihilate the fierce forces of the Western Regions. Instead, met with one disappointment after another, he became uncontrollably irritable.
"Within three days, I want a counterattack. I need a victory to show the people of the world what I am capable of. All of you will stay right here today and give me a practical and effective strategy. If you can't, you can all strip off your official robes."
Having delivered his ultimatum, Emperor Ruicheng stormed off to the back rooms with a stony, furious expression, violently flicking his sleeves.
Watching the Emperor leave in a fit of rage, the crowd hurriedly gathered around General Sun.
"War is not child's play. How can an offensive be decided so easily?"
"General Sun, you've fought wars your whole life. You are highly respected and fully experienced. Please advise His Majesty."
