Chapter 48
Tori's POV
I walked slowly down the hallway after spending almost the entire day indoors. Staying behind closed doors for too long was beginning to mess with my head, and I needed fresh air before my thoughts completely swallowed me whole.
The castle was unusually quiet at this hour. Only the faint sound of servants moving around in the distance echoed through the stone walls. My fingers brushed lightly against the cold surface beside me while I kept walking absentmindedly.
Then I saw him again.
My breath caught instantly the moment my eyes locked with his figure standing at the far end of the hallway. My heart skipped so hard that I could physically feel it inside my chest.
No. I didn't know if his presence here was a good thing or a bad thing.
This had to be my only chance to finally speak to him properly.
