Chapter 292 - Why Not Join Forces

Translator: CinderTL

Half a month?

Jiang Ye had no intention of simply waiting around.

Ding! He activated the ranking projection.

Third Place: Jiang Ye, Bounty: 108

"I've already killed over a hundred foreign race members along the way," he thought.

"I've passed through several opportunity zones," Jiang Ye mused, "but they've mostly been third-tier B-Tier Opportunities. I haven't encountered any A-grades yet."

A-grade opportunities were exceedingly rare in the First Star Ring region.

"What's noteworthy is..."

"The alien race geniuses I've encountered have all been in the late stage or peak of the third breakthrough."

"I haven't encountered a single one in the early or mid-stage of the third breakthrough," Jiang Ye pondered. "Could it be that the teleportation isn't just based on major cultivation realms?"

Previously, he had assumed that within a major realm, one could encounter opponents from any stage—early, mid, or late.

But the current situation suggested otherwise.

The early and mid-stages were separated from the late and peak stages.

"That makes much more sense," Jiang Ye nodded to himself. "Even if someone in the early stage of the third breakthrough gave their all, they couldn't possibly defeat someone at the peak. The difference in power is qualitative."

"This arrangement actually works to Senior Sister's advantage."

Jiang Ye couldn't help but smile at the thought.

He had initially assumed that Chen Zilu, being a newcomer to the fifth breakthrough, would struggle in the Star Realm Sea.

But now it seemed that might not be the case.

Once she fully assimilated the Fifth-Tier Upper A-Grade Opportunity, she might be able to sweep aside most of her opponents.

"For now, I'll check out the opportunities in other areas," Jiang Ye mused.

He didn't want to waste time waiting here.

With half a month remaining, Jiang Ye intended to seize as many opportunities as possible.

"Half a month," he thought. "That should be enough time to explore all of Area 015."

He believed there must be more civilization keys hidden within Area 015.

"Let's go. Time to harvest opportunities." Jiang Ye's figure shot skyward, soaring toward the next opportunity zone with a resounding whoosh.

As Jiang Ye flew away from the Black Coast, deep within a mountain cave atop one of the black peaks, a white-robed youth sat cross-legged. His eyes snapped open, flashing with an astonishing light.

Three striking crimson-gold brands marked his forehead.

This was Ji Bei, the man who had recently communicated with Kidd.

At that moment, he seemed to sense something.

Whoosh! Ji Bei's figure flickered, vanishing from his original position in an instant.

Within a majestic palace in the Fire Civilization:

"What is Ji Bei planning?" King Beize frowned. "Is he going after Jiang Ye?"

"Didn't I warn him not to provoke Jiang Ye?"

King Beize rose to his feet, his gaze fixed on the projection screen.

Ji Bei was the most outstanding Heavenly Pride in the Fire Ember Civilization, second only to those with invincible dao bones.

More importantly, Ji Bei was a Genius under King Beize's command!

King Beize couldn't afford to lose such a top-tier talent.

"Don't worry," Old Man Canghai said softly. "Knowing Ji Bei, he wouldn't act rashly."

"Besides, Ji Bei has already reached the quasi-fourth breakthrough. His combat power is nearly on par with some invincible dao bones at the peak of the third breakthrough."

"Perhaps he truly has a chance to kill Jiang Ye."

King Beize nodded slightly.

Old Man Canghai's words eased his anxiety somewhat.

The gap between the quasi-fourth breakthrough and the peak of the third breakthrough was at least three to four times greater.

For a genius of Ji Bei's caliber, the disparity would be even wider.

Given this overwhelming advantage in cultivation realm, combined with Ji Bei's near-invincible dao bone status, he might indeed have a chance to overpower Jiang Ye.

Whoosh!

Jiang Ye streaked across the vast expanse of the cosmos like a flowing light.

His speed was astonishing; distances of thousands of meters vanished in the blink of an eye.

Suddenly, whoosh! Jiang Ye dove downward, landing in an uncharted mountain valley.

He turned a cold gaze toward the empty space behind him.

"You've been following me all this way."

"Why don't you reveal yourself?" Jiang Ye stood with one hand clasped behind his back, his gaze unwavering.

He spoke in the Universal Cosmic Language.

"Heh heh."

"Your intuition is remarkably sharp," a soft chuckle echoed through the air.

Whoosh! The void nearby shimmered and distorted.

A figure slowly materialized from the void—a tall, white-robed youth with a dignified bearing and overwhelming qi prowess.

"Intuition?" Jiang Ye's expression remained icy.

His ability to sense the newcomer wasn't mere intuition.

It was the effect of his Perceptive Insight ability.

Jiang Ye hadn't relied solely on the map to seek opportunities. Whenever Perceptive Insight's cooldown ended, he would ascend to great heights and survey the vast cosmic landscape.

After all, Jiang Ye's vision had been greatly enhanced.

Now, he could easily see regions hundreds of kilometers away, provided he stood at a sufficient altitude.

Just as he activated his Perceptive Insight, Jiang Ye discovered a figure concealed in the void behind him.

"I didn't sense him at all," Jiang Ye thought, his vigilance spiking. "Without Perceptive Insight, if this person had launched a surprise attack, even I might have struggled to react in time."

This was the first time Jiang Ye had encountered someone capable of concealing themselves within the void.

"A genius from the Fire Ember Clan?" Jiang Ye asked, studying the three crimson-gold markings on the man's forehead, which clearly identified his origin.

"My name is Ji Bei," the white-robed youth replied with a faint smile. "Don't be formal. I simply followed you here out of curiosity about your strength."

Ji Bei? Jiang Ye's mind raced.

The fiftieth-ranked name on the bounty list was Ji Bei.

"So?" Jiang Ye asked calmly, meeting the man's gaze. "You want to fight me?"

"You misunderstand," Ji Bei said with a faint smile. "We are likely the strongest geniuses in Area 015. There's no need for us to waste our energy fighting each other."

"Why not join forces?" Ji Bei suggested with a smile. "We could break into the Third Star Ring together, or even the Divine Temple."

"Join forces?" Jiang Ye stared at him with a peculiar expression.

Jiang Ye was slightly surprised by the other party's words.

After all, he and the Fire Ember Civilization had a long-standing feud. At least a hundred of their geniuses had fallen by his hand.

"I don't have a good impression of the Fire Ember Clan," Jiang Ye said coolly.
