Screams filled the beach.
Golden beams swept back and forth. Wherever the beams passed, large sprays of blood erupted.
The armor worn by the Atlantean soldiers provided no protection at all against Alex's Heat Vision.
As the beams swept across them, the bodies of those deep-sea warriors were cut into several pieces. Blood immediately poured out and stained the beach red.
When the beams swept across the area once more, no one was left standing in front of Alex.
The beach was covered in red.
The corpses of Atlantean soldiers lay across the entire shoreline. So much blood had flowed that even the sea near the beach had turned red.
Only then did Alex vent some of his anger and let out a long breath.
Behind him, the Amazon warriors could not be called happy.
They were not butchers.
They were not war fanatics.
They would not be pleased simply because Alex had slaughtered their enemies.
But neither did they feel disgusted.
After all, Atlantis had started the war first.
And before this, many of their sisters had died under the enemy's bombardment.
What they felt was deep awe.
Not long ago, King Orm had been arrogant and unstoppable, and the Atlantean soldiers had overwhelmed them with superior technology.
Yet now, the Conqueror had wiped them out by himself.
It was power like that of a god.
Among the crowd, the only one who was not surprised was probably Diana.
She had personally seen how Alex had flattened half of Metropolis with a single punch.
Compared to that, this could only be considered a small scene.
After venting his anger on Atlantis, Alex's mood improved somewhat.
He snorted, picked up Orm's trident, and a thought crossed his mind.
Then he tossed the important weapon to Helena, "Keep it for me."
Helena gripped the heavy trident and nodded firmly.
"I'll protect it with my life."
Alex shook his head, "That's not necessary."
"It's only a weapon."
"Your life is more valuable than it."
Hearing that, a smile appeared in Helena's eyes.
Alex left behind the words "wait a moment" and flew toward the palace.
When he returned, he threw a box at Hippolyta's feet.
The lid opened.
The Amazons immediately saw that the box was filled with green stones that looked like jade.
"Kryptonite?", Diana said in surprise, "You really found it, and this much of it?"
Alex nodded and said to Hippolyta, "Make some weapons out of it. It might be useful in the future."
If it had been before, Hippolyta might have laughed it off.
But now, Paradise Island had suffered two invasions in a row, one by Steppenwolf and one by Atlantis.
Its strength had been badly damaged.
The Amazon Queen no longer knew what might happen next.
Even though preparing for a conflict with Kryptonians sounded absurd, she had to be cautious.
Hippolyta gestured.
She called over two female warriors and had them take the box to the finest craftsmen so all the Kryptonite could be used to create a batch of weapons designed specifically against Kryptonians.

BOOM!
A silver-white pillar of light descended from the sky.
A moment later, a dark figure emerged from the beam and landed heavily on the ground.
Steppenwolf straightened up and planted his battle axe into the ground.
Holding the Mother Box stolen from Paradise Island, he walked to the metal monument.
He embedded the Mother Box into it.
With a second Mother Box, the fortress changed again.
It became more complete.
It became stronger.
At that moment, Steppenwolf noticed electric currents flickering around the Mother Box.
After thinking for a moment, he reached out and touched them.
Instantly, his vision blurred.
His fortress disappeared.
He found himself standing on a desolate land.
He sensed an enormous power sleeping beneath it.
Steppenwolf bent down involuntarily, grabbed a handful of dirt, and let it slip through his fingers.
Suddenly, his eyes opened wide and blue electricity surged within them.
"What is this?"
Steppenwolf turned around, picked up his battle axe, and raised it overhead.
Red-gold lightning burst from the axe.
With a roar, he brought it down.
BOOM!
Lightning exploded in all directions.
The ground split apart.
Fire appeared.
Magma rose to the surface.
Centered on Steppenwolf, a huge and mysterious pattern rapidly spread across the land.
"Haha!"
"So it really is true!"
"This is the Anti-Life Equation!"
"It's actually on this primitive planet?"
Steppenwolf came back to himself.
The land and the mysterious pattern vanished.
He was back inside the fortress.
Looking at the Mother Box again, Steppenwolf understood.
This was the message the Mother Box wanted to convey.
The Mother Box wanted to tell him that the Anti-Life Equation was on this planet.
This was the "Lost World" Darkseid had spoken of.
Thousands of years ago, Darkseid had conquered world after world.
He had once visited a planet where he discovered the Anti-Life Equation.
But there he met fierce resistance from the natives of that world.
In the end, Darkseid had been forced to leave.
After so many years, Darkseid had long forgotten which planet contained the Anti-Life Equation.
He could only describe it as the "Lost World."
Steppenwolf had never expected that the Lost World was Earth.
He looked up at the metal monument, intending to contact DeSaad.
Suddenly, the words reached his lips, but he stopped.
"Why should I inform DeSaad?"
"I can find the Anti-Life Equation first and then contact the great ruler directly."
"If I do that, I won't have to share the credit with DeSaad."
"Or..."
A thought suddenly appeared in Steppenwolf's mind.
One he had never considered before.
"Or I can control the Anti-Life Equation myself."
"When that time comes, even Darkseid will have to bow before me!"
Thinking this, Steppenwolf quickly looked around.
A trace of unease rose in him.
But soon, that ambitious thought could no longer be restrained.
It expanded.
It grew.

[Inside a Wayne Enterprises Factory]
In a warehouse, Silas Stone watched his son carry the Mother Box out of a jet aircraft.
This Mother Box had not been activated yet.
It was still dormant.
Victor placed it on a table.
Vera, Bruce Wayne, and Barry Allen walked over.
Silas looked at them and said, "The Mother Box isn't safe anymore."
"It could wake up at any moment."
"And that monster is searching for it everywhere."
The Flash, Barry Allen, spread his hands.
"Didn't they say there are three Mother Boxes? Maybe that monster doesn't even have one right now."
"Otherwise, he wouldn't have needed to capture Dr. Stone."
As soon as he finished speaking, a rough voice sounded.
"No."
"You're wrong."
"That monster has at least one Mother Box already."
Bruce looked over.
A large man carrying a trident, wearing scale armor, and with loose hair walked in.
Aquaman, Arthur!
