Chapter 50 - End Of The Maki

As Skylar ran towards the army of day creatures, Alucard looked around the cage frantically. Dracule curses Skylar's name, and Elizabeth tries to calm down Dracule.

"Ah, huh," Alucard's eyes caught sight of the rose Skylar had. He moved as close as he could to reach the rose and reached out as far as he could. Alucard's fingers just grazed the petal when he reached as far as his arm could reach. "Rise with the sun, fall with the moon."

The moment Alucard finished saying the enchantment, the cage fell, returning to the rose as it fell to the ground.

"How did you do that?" Dracule asked Alucard, looking between him and the rose on the ground.

"I heard Skylar say the incantation," Alucard said as he began to rush towards the podium while Skylar was doing something with the Rubis halves and the souls of Dracula and Lisa. "I needed to see if saying the opposite would work. It was a gamble on my end."

"Well, you took a chance and got us out," Elizabeth said as she ran with the half-vampire siblings. Then, Alucard changed the direction he was running in. "Wait, Alucard, where are you going?"

"Skylar is fighting a war; I will help her where I can in this," Alucard said, drawing out his sword. "She wanted to keep me safe, and I am going to keep her safe."

"That makes you sound like a lovesick idiot," Elizabeth said as she and the Dracule went into the fight alongside Alucard, Dracule, and the many day creatures and blessed vampires on Skylar's side. As the battle went on, Skylar stood over it all on the high podium. She began to change the stitched bodies, removing the ring and destroying it, and turning the bodies into Alucard and Dracule's mother and father, using the hair strands as two attendants on either side of her using their magic to covered Dracula and Lisa Tepes as Skylar worked on resurrecting them, using a charm to allow Lisa to live as long as a vampire, and a charm on Dracula to allow him to enter sunlight, and not need blood to survive.

"Will this be enough, Miss Skylar?" One attendant asked.

"Honestly..." Skylar began, her heart aching inside. "I hope so, and I hope it will be enough to keep Alucard from looking for me for the time being."

"But it hurts you," the other attendant said, making Skylar's eyes flicker for a moment. "Does it not?"

"..." Skylar was silent for a moment, thinking as she finished the spell and pulled the souls into their proper bodies. "It does. But it doesn't matter, as long as --"

"Alucard!" Dracule's voice screamed. Skylar turned quickly. Her eyes widened, and her pupils dilated. Alucard was being thrown around by a giant woman with inhuman features. Dark skin, purple hair moving like flames, her clothes covered just enough not to leave her exposed. She had a set of two bright pink horns protruding from her hair, and they ended in black on the tips of her horns. Black markings covered her face, shoulders, and chest. Her eyes were bright pink with a slit for a pupil, wings of a demon and a tail with a purple flame on the end. Her hands and feet had sharp black claws instead of ordinary nails.

"Flow, don't you fucking dare!" Skylar said, then zoomed off the towering build and headed for the creature she called Flow. Flow laughed maniacally as she watched Alucard struggle on the ground. Dracule and Elizabeth fought enemy soldiers to get to Alucard, but there were too many.

"You fool, tricking my big sister," Flow mocked, taking slow steps toward Alucard. Then laughed. "And you had her thinking she was in love!"

"You're wrong," Alucard said, his body trembling from pain. "She is stronger than you, and she will choose what she desires. And she chose me."

"Hah!" Flow laughed, fangs glinting in the light. "You are a fool. Skylar is lost and confused; that is all it is. That is why we are bringing her home. And ending distractions like you!"

Flow raised her claw to kill Alucard. Then a bright light boomed, blinding everyone as Flow swung her claw down. Alucard had his eyes shut tightly. He was expecting pain, contact, something that would indicate an attack had been made on Alucard. But there was nothing. Then, when the light faded, Alucard looked up and saw a giant woman with giant angelic wings splayed out, protecting him. Holding Flow's wrist, and the other hand aimed towards Alucard to protect him. She wore fabric that crossed over her chest, covering her breasts. She had a single sleeve on her arm, a skirt that split on the left side, and shoes with a bead trail that had a string dangling from each of the beads.

"... Skylar?" Alucard's breath caught as he spoke. He didn't know she could do this. But he couldn't say that he disliked it.

"You are not laying another fucking hand on him!" Skylar shouted, striking Flow upward under the chin with her wing. Skylar then flew up after her. Skylar sent blasts of daylight at Flow, hitting her repeatedly. The day creatures and blessed vampires grew more powerful, and charged, attacking again and again, gaining more sunlight. Alucard, Dracule, and Elizabeth had followed Skylar's trail as she and Flow fought. Before long, Flow was sent crashing to the ground. Skylar landed near her, her hands clenched into fists, shaking in rage.

"Skylar," Flow looked up at her, pleading. "Please, we are sisters, our clan is everything we are."

Skylar watched Flow and saw the little sister who wanted to be as strong as her big sister. Skylar raised her hand and drew power out of Flow, watching her struggle, her form shrinking, returning to her human form. Flow looked at her body, then back up at Skylar with sad and confused eyes.

"You are right about one thing, Flow," Skylar said, a sad and sorrowful expression on her face as she stepped over Flow towards the building with the last Maki between them. "You and I are sisters. So I give you this first and last mercy. Don't make me regret this.
