Chapter 49 - Chapter 49 – Gluttonous World

Midnight hit the town like a verdict.

The sky cracked open first.

Then the storm came.

Not normal rain—black clouds spiraling violently, thunder folding into itself like something alive was breathing above the city.

And at the center of it all—

Archelle appeared.

No entrance. No transition.

Just presence.

Standing in the middle of the streets as police units surrounded her from every direction.

One step forward.

A single touch.

Every officer dropped instantly.

No struggle.

No sound.

Just bodies collapsing like their life had been switched off.

In a nearby building—

Jhonathan woke up.

The noise outside had changed.

Not screams of panic anymore.

Something worse.

A name being repeated.

"Jhonathan… Jhonathan… Jhonathan…"

Whispers through the crowd.

Like the world itself was accusing him.

His eyes opened slowly.

Then narrowed.

"…Why are they saying my name?"

The moment he moved toward the window—

he was already falling.

The entire skyscraper vanished beneath him as he dropped through the night sky.

Wind screamed around him.

But his body didn't break.

He landed on the ground with both feet—

clean.

Undamaged.

Like gravity had decided not to matter anymore.

Without hesitation—

he ran.

And as he ran—

something changed.

Rain froze mid-air.

Raindrops suspended like glass beads.

The world slowed around him while his speed multiplied violently.

He wasn't just moving through space anymore.

He was moving through authority.

Ahead—

a battlefield was forming.

Two figures clashing against Archelle's overwhelming presence.

Mark Angelo.

And Desiree—the God of Wrath.

Their combined pressure cracked the streets beneath them.

Jhonathan arrived instantly.

Dexcalibur appeared in his hand as if it had been waiting for him.

The blade pulsed with unstable mana, reacting to the storm itself.

Mark Angelo turned slightly while blocking a surge of dark energy.

"Is your crush okay?"

Jhonathan blinked.

"…Jessa?"

"Yes," Angelo answered while deflecting an attack. "She's alive."

Jhonathan exhaled.

"Good."

Then he tightened his grip.

Desiree slammed her hand into the ground.

"FUSE YOUR ABILITIES!"

The battlefield shifted instantly.

Mark Angelo's voice echoed through the storm.

"Prideful Command + Area of Sloth…"

Energy warped.

"…Ruling Army Area."

The ground responded like an obedient soldier, forming countless spectral troops from the environment itself.

Desiree followed immediately.

"Wrathful Return + Greedy Steal…"

The air twisted violently.

"…Sharing the Pain."

Every attack reflected back into reality itself, distributing damage across all combatants.

Mark Angelo stared at Jhonathan.

"You're the only one who can counter a god's domain."

"You already resisted ours before."

He stepped forward.

"So tell me…"

"…you understand now, don't you?"

Jhonathan looked around.

The storm.

The warped rules.

The endless pressure.

Then he nodded slightly.

"…So this is a domain."

Mark Angelo smiled faintly.

"Yes."

"This one is called—"

"Gluttonous World."

The ground suddenly erupted.

Roots exploded upward from beneath the city, wrapping around Archelle like living armor.

She didn't resist immediately.

Instead—

she paused.

For a fraction of a second.

Her expression shifted.

A memory surfaced.

A name.

Aniel.

The shaman who once told her something she refused to forget.

That Jhonathan would become the unstoppable force—

the one who ends the war between sins and virtue.

Lightning struck the sky.

The storm tightened.

Archelle lifted her head slowly, roots fully forming her divine armor.

Her voice echoed across the battlefield.

"…Then let it begin."

And the war between gods truly started.
