The next morning, the bright sunlight poured through the large glass windows of the private academy, but the atmosphere inside the classroom was completely different than usual.
Viella and Lily sat side by side at their shared wooden desk. The entire classroom was incredibly silent- much more silent and tense than it had ever been before. Usually, the wealthy students would be loudly gossiping, laughing, and throwing papers around before the morning bell rang.
But today, everyone sat perfectly still in their seats, whispering in low voices and glancing nervously toward the empty teacher's desk.
Feeling the strange tension in the air, Viella leaned over slightly and whispered to Lily in a tiny, curious voice. "Hey, Lily... what in the world is going on today? Why is everyone acting so weird and scared?"
