Chapter 1 - Infinite Game

Year 2030.

Blue Star.

The sky did not fall. The earth did not crack. There were no signs, no warnings—no thunderous herald announcing the turning of fate.

Instead, it came quietly.

A single line of text appeared before every human being on the planet.

[System Initialization Complete]

[Linking to All Human Consciousness…]

[Binding Successful]

At first, people thought it was a glitch.

A hallucination.

A prank.

But the message did not disappear.

[Welcome to the Infinite Game]

Yin Yuca stood in the middle of a crowded street, frozen in place as the translucent blue interface flickered before his eyes. Cars honked. People shouted. Somewhere nearby, someone screamed.

But none of it felt real.

Not anymore.

His heartbeat slowed, not from calm—but from something deeper. Something instinctive.

Change.

The world had changed.

[Distributing Initial Rewards…]

[All Humans Will Receive a Starter Draw]

[Drawing…]

A soft hum vibrated through his skull.

Yin Yuca clenched his fists.

"A draw…?" he muttered.

A glowing card slowly formed in front of him.

It spun once—twice—before landing silently in his palm.

[Congratulations!]

[You Have Obtained: "Infinite Power of Luck (Infinite)"]

The world went quiet.

Not outside.

But inside his mind.

[Description:] "Infinite Power of Luck (Infinite)

•All probabilities are subconsciously influenced in the user's favor

•Negative outcomes are suppressed or redirected

•Hidden opportunities are naturally drawn toward the user

•Cause and effect subtly rearrange to ensure survival and advantage

The card twirled with restless energy in his palm before circling him in ever-widening loops. Slowly, it fused with him, weaving itself into his very being. If he could look within, he would witness a radiant blue sphere taking shape, surrounded by luminous rings. From its core, a powerful aura pulsed outward, showing the immensity of Heaven and Earth.

"…Infinite?"

Yin Yuca's pupils contracted.

That single word carried a weight that shattered logic.

Limitations defined balance.

But this…

This had none.

Around him, others began shouting.

"I got an F-rank skill?! What is this garbage?!"

"Wait—what's a Mage Class?!"

"I have a sword technique—no, wait—it's evolving?!"

"My body… it feels stronger!"

The world erupted into chaos.

Some fell to their knees in despair.

Others laughed in madness.

And an exceptional few… stood silently.

I was pretty sure I had read something like this in a novel before. There had to be a special keyword that would unlock the System's hidden features and let me experiment with its abilities.

"I think the word was... Status"

The interface shifted instantly.

[User: Yin Yuca]

[Race: Mortal]

[Lifespan: 16/68]

[Skills: None]

[Superpowers: None]

[Infinite Powers: Luck (Infinite)]

[Equipment: None]

"This is…"

His breathing quickened.

For the first time, even he couldn't remain calm.

Then, far above the skies of Blue Star—

Something stirred.

An unseen force.

Ancient.

Watching.

Waiting.

Because the System had not come to save humanity.

It had come to test it.

[First Invasion Countdown Initiated]

[Time Remaining: 23 hours & 59 minutes]

One day.

A grace period.

Or perhaps—

A countdown to extinction.

"The System welcomed us to this 'Infinite Game', so I presume that there are going to be monsters when the first invasion occurs?"

"And what's with this incredible feeling of luck that I feel? Does it have something to do with the card I drew?"

I don't even know how to use this so-called Infinite Power that I have. Maybe the System could tell me more about this?

"System, what do I need to do to use this Infinite Power?"

[System is unable to answer]

Yin Yuca shoved the System interface aside and spoke, "Fine, whatever, I guess I'll figure that out on my own then."

With some moments of excitement and restlessness, Yin Yuca finally decided to head back home

Ten minutes later of walking back home, he was met with his apartment building complex and a bunch of people heading out and talking to each other like it was a birthday party.

It looks to me like they're trying to figure out what's going on with the sudden announcement from the System. Probably best to see what other people think of these dramatic turn of events.

Yin Yuca took a moment to stabilize himself before he managed to walk up to the group of people near his apartment.

"What's up? Are you guys talking about the "Infinite Game" that the System mentioned about?" Yin Yuca asked.

His nearby neighbor, Fang Xiaotong was first to respond. He was one of his closest friends that he went to school with for the past few years, and just moved in to the same apartment complex a few months ago.

"Brother Yin, there you are! We were just talking about tomorrow's invasion. We figured maybe, if we all join forces, we might actually stand a chance against those monsters."

Another neighbor chimed in, "Some of us are ready to head straight to the police station for safety. Brother Yin, since you live by yourself, we should go together now before things get worse. Friends like us need to look out for each other. If you would rather not come, at least find somewhere safe and crowded, where the authorities or someone in charge can protect you."

Yin Yuca paused, weighing his options before answering his neighbors."Alright, I'll join you this time. Thanks for including me, I appreciate it."

Fang Xiaotong quickly asked, "What card did you get? One of my friends at school pulled an S-ranked superpower! They said it was space manipulation. How cool is that?"

Yin Yuca's eyes widened in amazement. "Space manipulation? That sounds incredible! My card is all about luck. So if you ever get stuck, come find me. Maybe I can flip your fortunes! I've also been wanting to ask, is there actually a ranking system for the cards that you can draw?"

Fang Xiaotong leaned in, eyes bright with excitement, "I have my speculation that there is indeed a limit to a card's rank. Unfortunately, the only news that I heard from my friends are limited to S-rank and most other people probably won't bother to reveal their card rank because of the news press. In a world brimming with magic and power, your true allies are the ones closest to you. Hold tight to your friends and family, and guard your secrets well."

Is there anyone else who holds a rank beyond SSS, or am I truly alone at this level? With this so-called infinite power, can I soar past the heavens and claim the ultimate peak?
