Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: The Pokémon Worth a Billion

A Pokémon that even a billion couldn't buy…

The thought echoed in Luna's mind.

There was no doubt—Ren had been referring to the Legendary Pokémon the boss had mentioned earlier.

Still… she couldn't quite see what made them worth that much.

At that moment, the door to the inner room opened again.

Ren stepped out, and floating beside him was a turquoise creature.

It looked like a small dragon, with a wide, flat head, a pointed snout, large round eyes, a long slender body, two tiny arms, and a thin tail that swayed gently in the air.

"This is Dreepy," Ren said as he walked over and introduced it to Luna.

"A little strange… but kind of cute."

Luna blinked, studying Dreepy with curiosity.

Its shape really was unusual—especially that long, narrow body and its softly drifting tail, which gave it an almost eerie elegance.

"Dree"

Dreepy stared back at Luna with wide eyes. After a moment, it turned its gaze elsewhere, looking around with innocent curiosity.

Lucas immediately raised his Pokédex and aimed it at the floating dragon.

> "Dreepy. Dragon/Ghost-type.

The Lingering Pokémon.

Ability: Clear Body.

Moves: Quick Attack, Astonish, Bite, Infestation, Dragon Tail.

Once lived in the ancient seas. After being reborn as a Ghost-type Pokémon, it now wanders the areas where it once resided."

Lucas's eyes lit up.

Dragon-type and Ghost-type!

So Dreepy was a Dragon-type—and a Ghost-type at that!

"That entry sounds kind of creepy…" Miya muttered, eyeing Dreepy.

"Ghost-type?" Luna froze slightly. "You mean… a ghost?"

"Not an actual ghost," Ren corrected gently. "Just a Ghost-type Pokémon."

He held out his arm, and the curious Dreepy slowly drifted down and rested there.

It was extremely light—unsurprising for a Ghost-type.

"So obedient…" Luna murmured, her gaze softening.

"Ghost-types are one of the trickier attributes," Ren explained calmly. "Dreepy itself isn't very strong right now. But once it evolves into its final form, its strength increases dramatically."

He spoke slowly and seriously.

As a base-stage Pokémon, Dreepy's combat power wasn't impressive. In the wild, they typically lived in groups for protection.

But its final evolution—Dragapult—was a completely different story.

Even among pseudo-legendary Pokémon, Dragapult was considered one of the strongest, especially without Mega Evolution in the equation.

Its Ghost typing made its battle style incredibly unpredictable, while its Dragon typing ensured powerful physical ability.

The combination made Dragapult extremely difficult to deal with.

"This is the first Ghost-type anyone's drawn, right?" Lucas asked, amazed.

"Yeah," Ren nodded. "And I didn't expect the first one to be Dreepy."

He glanced at the little dragon with faint disbelief. The second pseudo-legendary appearing this soon was beyond his expectations.

"If I buy it… what do I feed it?" Luna asked hesitantly.

She was honestly tempted.

It was the first Pokémon she had drawn. A pseudo-legendary. And… it was a Ghost-type.

Even if Ren said it wasn't a real ghost, she still couldn't help but find that thrilling.

"Dragon-type or Ghost-type energy cubes will work," Ren replied immediately. "Ideally, you'd rotate between both. Energy cubes are one of our main nutritional foods here—excellent for Pokémon."

Luna nodded, only half understanding.

"But if you decide to buy Dreepy, you'll need patience," Ren added thoughtfully. "Its growth cycle is longer than most Pokémon."

Pseudo-legendaries in general took longer to mature than ordinary Pokémon.

But Dreepy was especially extreme.

In game terms, most pseudo-legendaries evolved around level 30 for their second stage—already considered high.

But Dreepy?

It evolved into Drakloak at level 50.

And then into Dragapult at level 60.

Even more frustrating—Dreepy learned almost no new moves through leveling.

Aside from its initial moves, it relied heavily on egg moves and TMs, and even then its options were limited.

It could be said that Dreepy was the weakest pseudo-legendary hatchling in the early stages.

Long growth period. Late power spike.

But once it reached Dragapult—it was a complete transformation.

"I understand…"

Luna lowered her gaze, deep in thought as she watched the little dragon drift gently in the air.

Ghost. Dragon.

"Dree"

Dreepy tilted its head slightly, staring back at her with bright eyes and letting out a soft, childlike cry.

Luna inhaled deeply.

"Boss… I'll buy it."

No more hesitation.

Not just because of what Ren and Lucas had said.

But because she genuinely liked it.

And yes—she had always loved anything supernatural.

Despite her gentle appearance, Luna had been fearless since childhood. She watched horror movies alone at night the way others watched romance dramas.

This little Ghost Dragon felt… perfect.

"A wise decision," Ren smiled warmly. "I believe you'll be proud of this choice in the future."

"I hope so too."

Her smile was soft and radiant.

"Please wait a moment," she added apologetically. She wanted to call her father first. She had a credit card from him that could handle the payment, but she still wanted to inform him.

"No problem," Ren said, heading to the counter to prepare energy cubes and starter items.

"Congratulations, boss," Lucas teased with a grin. "Another massive sale."

"It wasn't easy," Ren replied, though the corners of his lips lifted.

With this transaction, his first major sales milestone would finally be complete.

He hadn't expected it to happen this quickly.

"Since today's such a good day… can I draw again?" Lucas asked hopefully.

"Don't make it hard for me," Ren said helplessly. "The rules are strict."

"Shame."

Soon, Luna returned, smiling.

"It's fine. Please swipe the card."

"Thank you for your patronage," Ren said as he completed the transaction. "Here are two boxes of energy cubes, a Rookie Trainer Manual, and a commemorative Poké Ball for purchasing a pseudo-legendary."

"Would you like a Pokédex as well?"

"Of course. And the rest of the energy cubes—could you ship them to Hangzhou?"

"Certainly."

After everything was settled, Ren turned to the floating dragon.

"Dreepy, from now on, this young lady is your trainer. Get along well with her."

"Dree"

The little dragon drifted closer to Luna, rubbing lightly against her arm.

"Hello, Dreepy."

She reached out gently. Its body felt cool to the touch.

When it didn't resist—instead narrowing its eyes contentedly—Luna's heart completely melted.

So cute.

"Oh, by the way," Ren added casually. "We have a trainer group chat. Would you like to join?"

"Yes!" Luna's eyes brightened.

She was curious about the other trainers.

After scanning her QR code, Ren pulled her into the group.

> Ren invited "Miss Luna" to the group chat.

Ren: Welcome our lucky champion who just pulled Dreepy! 🎉

Lily: The European Emperor has arrived! I'm crying!!

Lucas: Respect to the rich queen. Can we see Dreepy again?

Emma: New member means red envelopes!

Miya: I can already smell the jealousy in this group.

Ren: …

Watching the lively chat scroll nonstop, Luna couldn't stop the smile forming on her lips.

Everyone was surprisingly enthusiastic.

Maybe…

This was going to be fun.
