Amara's POV :
My alarm went off at six on Friday morning and I seriously considered throwing it out the window.
It was finally the day to go to connecticut. Meet Roman's mother and also three whole days of pretending I belonged in a world I barely understood.
I rolled out of bed and stumbled into the shower before my brain could fully process what I was about to do. The hot water helped wake me up but it didn't do anything for the knot in my stomach.
I got dressed in jeans and a sweater because Roman said the flight was short and I could change later. I threw the nicest things I owned into my bag including that navy dress from Alexander's dinner because apparently Eleanor Vale also expected formal meals.
I was already downstairs by seven thirty with my bag and a desperate need for coffee.
Alicia was already in the kitchen and the smell of fresh croissants hit me the second I walked in.
"Morning dear," she said brightly. "Big day today."
