Amara's POV :
Sunday morning the house felt too quiet.
I found Iliora in her room stuffing the last of her things into an overnight bag. Textbooks and wrinkled clothes and way too many pairs of shoes for a weekend visit.
"You're really leaving?" I asked from the doorway.
She turned and made a face. "Unfortunately. I have a paper due tomorrow that I haven't even started and Professor luke will literally fail me if I don't show up."
"Harsh."
"That's what I get for procrastinating." She zipped up the bag and walked over. "But I'll be back in two weeks for fall break."
"Two weeks is forever."
"You'll survive. You've got Roman to keep you company." She grinned and waggled her eyebrows. "And trust me, you won't be bored."
My face got hot. "Shut up."
