Charlotte swallowed hard, forcing herself to hold his gaze despite the nausea rising in her throat.
"What do you want me to tell him?" she asked, gathering what little courage she had left.
All she wanted was to get out of there fast. The air felt suffocating, thick with danger. Shadows clung to every corner of the warehouse, and the men lurking within them made her skin crawl. It felt as though a thousand unseen eyes were watching her, crawling over her like insects she couldn't brush off.
