Chapter 167 - The Eviolite

"Then… does that mean I can only wait for Ho-Oh to appear on its own? Or if I find Mt. Tensei, will it show up?" Hannah pressed, unwilling to give up.

Peter shook his head. "I don't know. But… I believe that as long as you search with sincerity, one day, you'll find your answer."

As he spoke, his gaze drifted toward the sunset on the horizon.

What she sought… wasn't all that different from his own goal.

The only difference was—he was searching for Giratina, the ruler of the Distortion World.

Peter escorted her to the Gym entrance, where Brent was already waiting.

He had made up his mind—he would accompany this fate-torn girl on her journey to find Ho-Oh.

"Thank you…" Hannah bowed deeply.

"There's no need," Peter replied with a smile. "After all, I got what I wanted from you as well."

He watched as the two of them walked away.

Brent suddenly turned back, flashing a bright grin. "Mr. Peter! Let's battle again next time!"

Peter chuckled. "Of course!"

He didn't immediately teleport back.

Instead, Peter had Roto dial up Devon Corporation.

Soon, a middle-aged man with graying hair appeared on the screen—Mr. Stone, father of Hoenn Champion Steven.

"Mr. Stone, hello. I'm Peter. I'd like to discuss a business proposal."

"You're too polite, Dr. Peter," Mr. Stone replied warmly. "My son has spoken highly of you. Please, go ahead."

Peter laid out several held items from his bag, placing them neatly on the table as he explained their functions one by one.

Mr. Stone raised an eyebrow. "You intend to…?"

"I want Devon to help mass-produce these items."

A pause.

"To my knowledge, you already run a shop," Mr. Stone pointed out.

Peter smiled knowingly. "As a business leader, I'm sure you can see the limitations of my current model."

Mr. Stone laughed. "Indeed. You're sharp, Dr. Peter."

His expression turned serious. "So how do you propose we cooperate?"

"Simple. I provide samples. Your company handles materials and production. We share the patents—but all sales go through my shop."

Peter laid everything out clearly.

Silence followed as Mr. Stone considered.

From his perspective, Peter lacked the capacity for large-scale manufacturing, so he was outsourcing production to Devon—reducing costs while expanding reach.

More importantly, both of them understood one thing:

These items were already on the market. Reverse engineering and knockoffs were only a matter of time.

Instead of losing control, it was better to stay ahead—refine the technology, lower costs, build a brand, and secure long-term profits.

After a moment, Mr. Stone spoke.

"If that's the case, Devon would like marketing control—and no less than 60% of the profit."

"Deal."

Peter didn't hesitate.

He had expected to receive maybe 20–30% at best. This was already generous.

Besides… managing a business himself?

Too much hassle.

Making money while lying down sounded much better.

After ironing out the details and signing the contract, Peter transferred the items to Rustboro City.

Mass production would begin soon.

During the conversation, he also learned about the progress of Mega Evolution and Dynamax research.

Mega Evolution was already seeing breakthroughs. Thanks to Steven's efforts, the League had obtained numerous Mega Stones and Key Stones.

It was beginning to spread from the top down.

Dynamax, on the other hand, was easier—Wishing Stars were abundant in Galar, making Dynamax Bands relatively easy to produce.

However, since Dynamax energy was localized to Galar, its usability remained limited compared to Mega Evolution.

With the business side settled, Peter opened the system interface.

[Ding! Master Draw initiated. Total draws: 20…]

[Ding! 200 million Poké Dollars consumed. Rewards obtained:]

Key Stone ×1

Flame Orb ×1

Wise Glasses ×1

Eviolite ×1

Rare Candy ×7

Loaded Dice ×1

Leaf Stone ×4

Moon Stone ×2

Dusk Stone ×2

"…Huh?!"

Peter blinked in surprise.

Another Key Stone?!

"Perfect gift for Babe~"

He pocketed the shimmering gem before examining the rest.

Flame Orb: Burns the holder continuously, even after healing.

Wise Glasses: Boosts special attack moves by 10%.

Eviolite: Boosts Defense and Special Defense by 50%—for unevolved Pokémon only.

Loaded Dice: Multi-hit moves strike at least 4 times.

Aside from the Loaded Dice, everything fit his team perfectly.

The Flame Orb would be ideal for Teddiursa's future Guts ability.

Wise Glasses suited special attackers like Indeedee and Arboliva.

But the real gem…

Was the Eviolite.

Before evolving into Blissey, Chansey already had monstrous HP and special defense.

With Eviolite?

It became a nightmare.

Endless stalling. Recover loops. Absolute frustration.

And Peter's Chansey?

Already had insane defensive stats.

With Eviolite, both defenses skyrocketed to terrifying levels.

Combined with its HP…

Against anything that wasn't Poison or Steel?

Unkillable.

"Yep… Chansey is definitely my favorite~"

Grinning, Peter tucked the violet stone into Chansey's pouch.

"Lucky~!"

The pink Pokémon happily hugged his arm, rubbing against him affectionately.

"Alright, alright… as long as you like it."

He patted its head and recalled it.

-----

Inside the Dream Space, Peter assigned training tasks.

Some practiced in the gaming room to improve move proficiency.

Then he brought Indeedee into the Mimetic Chamber.

Now that they had reached Elite tier, the chamber's energy refinement speed far surpassed the outside world.

Arboliva appeared in a corrupted forest.

Lopunny stood atop the endless peak of Mt. Coronet.

After leaving them with Pokéblocks for sustenance, Peter arranged Slaking and Indeedee into separate simulated environments.

Step by step…

His team was growing stronger.

And so was the path ahead.
