"I was scared. Really scared," she admitted, tightening her grip on my arm. "But in that exact moment of fear, Rias showed up and saved me. So please, don't hate Rias for what she did. And please... don't hate yourself because you couldn't reach me in time. You fought a Fallen Angel on your own, Shiro. You're lucky to even be alive."
She closed her eyes, leaning her weight fully into me. "So just... thank you. Thank you for worrying about me."
I let out a long, heavy breath. The guilt that had been gnawing at my chest since Saturday finally started to loosen its grip. I awkwardly shifted my coffee cup to my other hand and draped my arm over her shoulders, giving her a gentle, reassuring squeeze.
"Alright," I said softly. "I get it."
After that, the heavy tension between us completely evaporated. Isa seemed a hundred times lighter, her usual cheerful, slightly goofy demeanor returning in full force. We continued our walk, passing by a small, tree-lined public park while Isa peppered me with questions about how my magic actually worked.
Thud!
"Kyaa!"
The sudden yelp made us both stop. We looked toward the sidewalk bordering the park.
Sprawled out on the concrete was a girl in a full, traditional nun's habit. She had clearly tripped over her own feet. An old, worn-out leather suitcase lay popped open next to her, spilling a haphazard pile of clothes across the pavement. Because of the awkward angle of her fall, the skirt of her habit had hiked up entirely too high, giving the entire street a clear, unobstructed view of her plain white underwear.
I blinked as the girl scrambled to sit up, her long, beautiful blonde hair spilling over her shoulders.
Asia Argento, I realized, my Gamer's Mind instantly clicking the pieces together.
I glanced over at Isa. The hot chocolate was entirely forgotten. Isa was staring at the flustered nun with literal heart-shaped pupils, a faint trickle of blood threatening to leak from her nose. Her perverted instincts had completely overridden her brain.
"Down, girl," I sighed, lightly chopping the top of Isa's head with the edge of my hand.
I quickly walked over to the blonde nun and offered her my free hand. "Are you alright?"
"A-Ah! Yes! I'm so sorry!" she stammered, her face turning a brilliant shade of crimson as she realized her skirt was hiked up. She frantically pulled the fabric down and took my hand, letting me pull her up to her feet.
Isa finally snapped out of her trance and rushed over, immediately dropping to her knees to help gather the scattered clothes. "Here, let us help you with this!" she said, her voice dropping into an overly smooth, charming register.
I just rolled my eyes and picked up the heavy leather suitcase, bringing it over so they could pack her things back inside.
"Thank you very much," the nun said, bowing deeply to both of us once the suitcase was latched shut. "My name is Asia Argento. Thank you for your kindness."
"No problem at all!" Isa beamed, a visible blush on her cheeks. "It was our pleasure."
Asia smiled, though she looked a bit lost as she glanced around the unfamiliar streets. "If it's not too much trouble... could I ask you both for a favor? I'm trying to find the church in this town, but I'm afraid I've gotten terribly turned around."
Isa immediately tried to give her directions, but her explanation involved 'turning left at the weirdly shaped tree' and 'going past the house with the angry dog,' which only made Asia look more confused.
"We'll just walk you there," I interrupted, saving the poor girl from Isa's terrible navigation.
I reached down and grabbed the handle of Asia's suitcase. She immediately reached out to stop me. "Oh, no! Please, I can carry it. It's quite heavy!"
"Don't worry about it," I smiled, lifting the massive suitcase with one hand like it was completely empty. With my Strength stat sitting at 45, it genuinely felt as light as a feather.
Asia's bright green eyes widened in absolute astonishment at how effortlessly I held it. I just gave Isa a knowing grin that practically screamed, 'If she only knew.'
We started the trek toward the outskirts of town where the abandoned church sat. Along the way, Asia and Isa hit it off immediately. Despite Isa's underlying perverted thoughts, the two of them chatted so easily you would have thought they were long-lost sisters.
While they talked, I subtly kept my eyes on the blonde nun and triggered my skill.

I raised an eyebrow. My Observe skill had leveled up enough to finally reveal equipped Sacred Gears and background titles. Her level was surprisingly high for a normal human, Level 12, but it made sense. If she had spent her entire life constantly using her Sacred Gear to heal the sick and wounded, she would have passively farmed an insane amount of experience points over the years.
Suddenly, the sharp sound of a child crying interrupted my thoughts.
We looked over. A little boy had tripped on the gravel path inside the park, badly scraping his knee.
Without a second of hesitation, Asia dropped what she was doing and rushed over to the boy. She knelt beside him, placing her hands gently over his bleeding knee. A warm, beautiful green light radiated from her palms. Within seconds, the blood vanished, and the scraped skin completely knitted itself back together as if it had never been injured.
Isa stopped dead in her tracks. Her jaw dropped. She looked at the green light, then whipped her head around to look at me, frantically pointing at her own left arm where her gauntlet was hidden.
"Shiro!" Isa whisper-shouted, her eyes practically sparkling with excitement. "She has a Sacred Gear! Just like me! I'm gonna tell her about mine…!"
She took a step toward the nun.
My Agility kicked in. I reached out and grabbed a fistful of Isa's school blazer, yanking her back so hard she almost fell over.
"Are you an idiot?" I hissed, keeping my voice dangerously low.
Isa blinked, startled by my sudden intensity. "What? Why?"
"Think about it, Isa," I whispered harshly. "She is a servant of the Church. You are a Devil. What do you think is going to happen if you walk up to a holy priestess and reveal that you possess demonic power?"
Isa's eyes widened in horror as the realization finally crashed down on her. She slapped both hands over her mouth, nodding frantically.
Asia patted the little boy's head, watching him run happily back to his mother, before turning and jogging back over to us.
"Sorry to keep you waiting!" Asia smiled, though she looked a little confused by how tightly I was gripping the back of Isa's jacket. "Um... what are you guys talking about?"
I immediately let go of Isa's jacket and smoothed out the wrinkles, slipping perfectly into the role of a completely clueless, mundane high schooler.
"Oh, nothing," I laughed casually, rubbing the back of my neck. "We were just totally blown away. How did you do that? Was it some kind of magic trick?"
Asia's smile brightened, completely buying the act. She clasped her hands together in front of her chest, her expression entirely pure. "It's a gift from the Lord! I am very thankful for it. It allows me to heal people's wounds."
