Valerie's POV
The silence was the first thing I noticed after the taxi disappeared.
It wasn't the kind of suffocating silence that made one unsettled, nor was it the kind of silence I had experienced in the pack house when everyone pretended I didn't exist.
It was a kind of silence that brought peace. One that made everything feel alive, including myself.
I could hear the faint rustling of leaves, the distant chirping of birds, and the whisper of wind brushing against the trees surrounding me in every direction.
It was as if the forest was breathing and it made my heart skip in joy.
I stepped forward slowly, my boots crunching lightly against the gravel path as I approached the house.
My house.
The thought of it made it feel so surreal.
I actually owned a physical property in this world.
Just a few months ago, I couldn't even afford to eat a full meal, yet now, I was buying property worth millions without batting an eye.
