Dakota's hair had always been one of the first things that captured his attention. It was long enough to fall well past her waist, thick enough to slip through his fingers like flowing silk, and naturally curled into soft waves that framed her face beautifully. Its deep jet-black color caught the morning light whenever it shone across it, giving it an almost satin-like sheen. He had never seen hair quite like hers.
The delicate fragrance of herbs mixed with Dakota's own familiar scent as he carefully worked the lather through every strand. His fingertips moved slowly across her scalp, gently massaging away the dirt and dried rainwater that still lingered from the previous day.
Dakota let out a contented sigh. "Mmm..." Her shoulders gradually relaxed beneath his touch until she leaned back against the edge of the tub, looking completely at ease.
"That feels nice," she murmured drowsily.
Kade smiled faintly without pausing his movements. "I had a feeling you'd say that."
