Luna sighed dramatically. "Can we not scare your sister before she even meets the man?"
That only made them laugh harder. Richard shook his head, amused. "The Ashbournes are respectable people."
"That doesn't mean their Alpha isn't strange," another brother countered. "Look at Kade Nightshade."
The table went instantly quiet.
Then Luna started laughing first. Richard followed. Soon everyone joined in, even Maya. The sound escaped her before she could stop it — a small, genuine laugh that felt surprisingly good.
