Big Mom hurriedly stood up and walked to the window. Looking out, she saw that the very ground of the entire Pirate Island seemed to have come alive, undulating like waves on the ocean.
The rocks and earth seemed to gain life all at once, continuously coalescing into the heads of several lions, dozens of meters high!
The earthen lions roared, surrounding the center of the entire island.
"That bastard Shiki, does he want to destroy the whole island?" Big Mom said in disbelief. Things had reached this point, and even she found it hard to stand idly by. If Captain Rocks returned later, she wouldn't be able to explain herself.
However, before she could take action, she saw a pillar of bright blue light shoot down from the peak of the center of Pirate Island. Lightning crackled and burst forth, piercing the earth like a dragon or a serpent!
Ren swung his blade, unleashing the power of lightning. He stood at the center of the island, the buildings beneath him seemingly swallowed by the thunderglow. The rampaging electricity rushed in all directions, clashing fiercely with the roaring rock lions!
The shattered rocks fell like meteors, and the roaring thunder dragons dissipated amidst the slaughter.
Oden Kozuki jumped to the side, dodging a giant rock hurtling towards him, then continued charging toward the coast. The sailors had been waiting for him on the Oden for quite some time.
Ren breathed a sigh of relief. Since the Vampire Fruit had been snatched back, he didn't need to continue entangling himself with Shiki; he just needed to find an opportunity to break away and leave.
But just then, Big Mom charged over, stepping atop a burning cloud.
"Shiki, it looks like you're no match for this guy. Why don't you let me take over!" Big Mom sneered, gripping the blade in her hand.
"Don't look down on me, you hag! This is my fight. Get lost!"
The two immediately began to hurl insults at each other. But despite the verbal exchange, they simultaneously wrapped their weapons in Haki to the absolute limit, then blasted an attack toward Ren.
"Elbaf Spear: Spear of Elbaf!"
Two slashes that made heaven and earth change color descended upon Ren. They were so fast and powerful that the air began to distort. The sky above Ren's head seemed to split apart, forming a massive, gaping tear!
A giant maw resembling an abyss swallowed the thick black clouds, looking like a waterfall of a reversed sea of clouds.
Oden, who had finally managed to board the ship, watched this scene dumbfounded. He couldn't help but grip his Ame no Habakiri. This blade was acclaimed as a legendary sword capable of slicing through the heavens, but compared to the scene before him, the sword seemed to have an undeserved reputation.
This was truly slicing down the sky!
"Is this... the monsters of the world outside the ocean?"
"Can that guy hold on?" Oden Kozuki was even starting to worry for Ren. Just then, he saw the torn clouds in the distant sky begin to reconverge, forming a black vortex.
Dark purple lightning flickered incessantly, yet emitted no sound, as if all the power was accumulating.
In the distant sky, that purple silhouette stood tall, the lightning seemingly connecting to the power of the entire sky!
"It's that move... it's even stronger than back then!"
Ren held the Sandai Kitetsu high in the air. Though he called it the Sandai Kitetsu, even he could no longer recognize the sword's true form; it seemed as though he were merely grasping a bolt of lightning.
Covered by intense lightning, the Sandai Kitetsu seemed to be struggling to maintain its form, the blade beginning to crumble and dissolve. This was power it was difficult to bear to begin with, and Ren was currently forced to go all out, unable to use Haki to reinforce it.
