That evening's dinner wrapped up in a surprisingly cozy atmosphere. The two of them sat around the table, the bowls of white rice gradually emptying, while the crawfish pot was reduced to nothing but a thick layer of sauce at the bottom. Ewan ate to his heart's content, it had been so long since he last had fresh white rice that he ended up overeating and had to loosen his waistband a little.
He was stuffed, yet incredibly satisfied.
Delicious food truly had a way of moving the soul. Having witnessed the people of Earth transition from the era of simply having enough food and warm clothing to a time of gourmet meals and high fashion, Ewan understood perfectly well the immense joy that came with a good meal.
