Mila walked into the dining room and found Markus already seated at the table with a cup of coffee in one hand and his phone in the other.
He looked completely at ease, his posture relaxed in a way that suggested he'd been sitting there for a while. The morning light came through the windows at an angle that made the room feel warmer than it actually was, and Markus had positioned himself to take advantage of it without seeming like he'd put any thought into the choice.
He glanced up when she entered, his expression shifting into something that might have been amusement. "Morning, Millie."
"You didn't leave," Mila said, moving toward the coffee pot on the sideboard.
"Nope." He took a sip from his cup, his attention returning to his phone for a moment before he set it down on the table. "Figured I'd stick around for breakfast... every day until you decide to come to my place. Hope that's okay."
