Markus stood in the doorway with his hands in his pockets, his attention moving across the room in a single sweep that took in everything without lingering on any one detail.
Dante felt the assessment land on him first, then shift to Mila where her head rested against his shoulder, then down to where his hand was still threaded through her hair. The observation was quick and controlled with no visible reaction beyond a slight tilt of his head.
He crossed the room without waiting for an invitation, his steps casual and unhurried. Dante watched everything he did, his hand stilling in Mila's hair as Markus reached the couch and stopped directly in front of them.
For a moment, Dante thought he might say something about how Mila was draped over him, might make some comment about how he was touching her that would require a response from him.
