Chapter 99 - 3 DAYS (9)

AKAME ASSASINATION (34)

'I'm contemplating whether I should make a move or not.' Akame thought to himself as he sat there bound by thick ropes. Ropes thick enough to hold cattle, but he was no mere cattle to be easily held like that.

Around him the elders murmured to themselves as though they had just seen someone rise from the dead. 'I could just cut free and move, but I don't know where I am or where I should be going. Geography wasn't my best subject in school, as such this might be an issue.'

Zena looked at him. 'There's something about his aura, I can't even fathom getting close to him. When I look at him I see his aura in the form of a face grinning ear to ear. Normally warriors have intense auras to warn their enemies, but him? There's no murderous intent behind his aura. Its as though his aura scares you but its not as though he wants to kill you.'

Naturally all those in the court were afraid of this man, well all but one. The chief stood up and walked slowly towards Akame who looked up at the man. Their eyes met and for an instant the man was hit with a sudden calm. Those green eye, their was childish warmth that gleamed radiantly.

 'These eyes, their like Nala's.'

You can always tell if someone is a child or if they are acting childish just by looking into their eyes. This is because of the glimmer of hope and carefree nature of children reflected off their eyes gives off this illusion of childlike wonder. And Somehow Akame's eyes gave this off.

When Nala was a child she gave off those same glimmers, glimmers that told her father she wasn't going anywhere any time soon.

"What is your name?" The chief spoke in English, which surprised Akame.

 "Saikyo."

"You don't seem like a man of many words."

 "I'm really not."

"?" The chief found it strange, "Why haven't you asked why I can speak your language."

"You don't need an answer, of course you can speak it because you're the chief and probably have had many meetings with the white folk who set up camps around here."

The chief was impressed. "You are very observant."

There was no way someone with his eyes would kill or even attempt to kill his daughter. The chief's eyes slowly wandered over to Zena who stared back, not even trying to hide the bloodlust. 'It might have just been a ploy, he's never been too happy with me being the chief… even now I can see the contempt in his eyes. He truly does hate me.'

Zena and the elders said nothing as the chief interrogated Akame in a language they didn't understand.

"Saikyo, what kind of name is that?"

"Does that question have a purpose? Or is it simply to buy time?"

 BANG!

Sudden footsteps could be heard just outside the chief's house. Massai men with a white substance on their face marched in visibly distressed.

"You fools what are you doing here?"

"Don't you understand that this is a secret meeting?"

The elders shouted. The men knelt.

"We're sorry, however, the Pokot have just arrived." One of them spoke, probably the supposed leader.

"The Pokot! Here… right now?" The chief was shook, "The meeting was suppose to be 2 days from now."

"Yes that is true, but they have sent their best warriors and they said they won't leave until they have an audience with you."

The chief looked distressed. Akame saw this and looked around. 'I don't understand what they are saying, but the situation turned grim when these guys pulled up. Does it have to do with why I'm here or is it something else entirely?'

Zena just stood there, he then turned his attention to Orinx who in turn turned his attention to the chief.

'They've arrived earlier than we agreed, something must've pushed their timeline… guess we didn't have to stall with this guy.' To Zena's surprise of course Akame was staring straight at him with.

'So this guy's must be the guy behind everything.' Akame deduced. He then looked over at the chief who finished up his meeting with the elders.

"It was nice meeting you Saikyo, but I must be off." But before he left he knelt down again and whispered in his ear, "Once the meeting is over I'll ask them to set you free. For now just stay put."

He then signaled to the guards at the door who nodded in response. The elders also agreed to take their leave until the right time came for them to return.

Zena and Orinx so no need to remain.

"What do we do about him?" Orinx asked.

"Nothing, he's of no use to us now that they've arrived this early." Zena responded with a cheeky grin, "The plan has already began, we're moving Orinx. We don't wanna be anywhere near this place."

His brother nodded and the both of them took their leave immediately after the elders left. Akame was left their with two guards and his limbs still bound.

'Should I leave now or…' He then remembered the kindness in the chief's eyes, 'Nah, I'll wait it out.'

MEANWHILE GIL AND EVERYONE CONTINUED THEIR JOURNEY

The hammer's wheels made a weird sound as the terrain randomly just switched from soft grass to hard rocks whenever it felt like it. But perhaps that was Jericho's fault, the way she put her petal to the metal would warrant a ticket from any competent officer, but then again its not like there were any out here.

"Can you relax!" Angel shouted at Jericho, "You're going too damn fast."

But she didn't listen and kept racing. Angel then turned to Justine.

"What do you want me to do?"

Angel then spun her entire body round to look at Gil who sat in the trunk with the girl who, sadly for her, had never experienced a car ride and as such was sick to her stomach and even holding her mouth to prevent herself from throwing up.

 "Hey Miss Jericho!" Gil shouted.

"Shut up or I'll personally circumcise you."

 "Damn!" Justine chuckled.

"Do you even know where we're supposed to be going?"Angel screamed at Jericho.

 "Obviously not." Jericho responded.

 "!"

"However, I can sense a dense network of fragments indicating a large number of people in this direction. If we keep heading forward we might…"

SCREECH!

The car suddenly came to hault the sudden inertia forced everyone to move forward.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Angel shouted.

But Jericho's eyes were fixed on the road. Angel turned and looked outside. Her pupils dilated as she witnessed the horror in front of her.

 "Fragment voids?" Angel whispered.

"So many of them in one place though." Jericho answered.

In front of them was a horde of fragment voids, but these had dark ashy skin and humanoid features.
