CHAPTER 15, THE WEAPON WITHIN
The silence in the classroom no longer felt ordinary.
It wasn't just quiet—
It was heavy.
Thick with fear.
Jay stood in the center, calm and still, but the faint red glow in his eyes hadn't completely disappeared. It lingered—subtle, but unmistakable.
His breathing was steady.
His face expressionless.
As if what had just happened… meant nothing to him.
But for everyone else—
Everything had changed.
—
"Step back."
Mr. Arvind's voice cut through the silence.
Firm. Controlled.
Every student obeyed instantly.
No questions.
No hesitation.
Chairs scraped lightly against the floor as they moved away, creating distance—not just physically, but emotionally.
Jay slowly turned his head toward Mr. Arvind.
Their eyes met.
And this time—
There was no uncertainty in Arvind's gaze.
Only seriousness.
Only intent.
"Jay," he said quietly, "come with me."
Jay didn't move immediately.
For a moment, it looked like he was thinking.
Processing.
Then—
He gave a slight nod.
And walked toward him.
—
The corridor outside was empty.
Unnaturally so.
No students.
No noise.
Just silence stretching in every direction.
As if the space had been cleared… prepared.
Jay stopped walking.
"You already knew, didn't you?" he asked.
Mr. Arvind paused.
Then turned to face him.
"Yes."
No hesitation.
No denial.
Jay's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Then why didn't you stop it?"
A brief silence followed.
Then—
"Because if I had," Arvind replied, "you would have broken sooner."
Jay didn't like that answer.
But he couldn't deny it either.
It felt… true.
—
They reached a secluded room.
The door closed behind them with a soft but final sound.
This room was different.
Not empty.
Not normal.
Strange markings covered the walls—intricate patterns, layered symbols that seemed almost alive if stared at too long.
Jay's gaze moved across them slowly.
"What is this place?"
Mr. Arvind stepped further inside.
"A safeguard," he said.
"For you… and for everyone else."
Jay stared at the markings.
Something stirred in his mind.
A faint pain flickered behind his eyes.
"These symbols…" he murmured.
"I've seen them before…"
Mr. Arvind's expression sharpened instantly.
"Where?"
Jay closed his eyes.
Focused.
Trying to reach that fragment of memory.
Seconds passed.
Then—
A flash.
Darkness.
Fire.
And a massive door.
Covered in the same symbols.
Jay's eyes snapped open.
His breathing grew heavier.
"There was a door…" he said.
"Huge… ancient…"
"And these symbols were on it."
The room fell silent.
Mr. Arvind's face grew more serious than ever.
"…So you've seen it," he said quietly.
Jay looked at him.
"Seen what?"
A pause.
Then—
"Your prison."
The word hit hard.
Jay froze.
"…Prison?"
"Yes."
Mr. Arvind stepped closer.
"Your power… your memories… your true identity…"
"…were sealed away."
Jay's thoughts spiraled.
"Who did it?"
But Mr. Arvind didn't answer directly.
"That question isn't important right now."
Jay's voice rose slightly.
"It is to me."
The air shifted.
That faint red glow flickered again in Jay's eyes.
The pressure in the room subtly increased.
"Control yourself, Jay," Arvind said immediately.
For a few seconds—
They just stared at each other.
Then—
Jay took a deep breath.
Forced himself to calm down.
The red glow faded again.
—
"If all of this is true…" Jay said slowly,
"…then what am I?"
This time—
Mr. Arvind answered.
Directly.
"You were a weapon."
Silence.
The word echoed.
Heavy.
Unavoidable.
Jay's heartbeat thudded loudly in his chest.
"…A weapon?"
"Yes."
"Something that was created… to fight… to destroy."
"And when it went out of control…"
A brief pause.
"…it was sealed."
Jay's breathing deepened.
"So I'm… dangerous?"
Mr. Arvind met his gaze.
"If you don't understand yourself…"
"…then yes."
The silence that followed was suffocating.
Jay clenched his fists.
Inside him, emotions collided—
Anger.
Fear.
Confusion.
But beneath all of that—
Something new formed.
A decision.
—
"Then teach me," Jay said.
Mr. Arvind blinked slightly.
"Teach you?"
Jay's eyes were steady now.
"I don't want to hurt anyone."
A pause.
"But if this power is inside me…"
"…then I'll learn to control it."
The room seemed to settle.
Mr. Arvind studied him carefully.
Then—
A faint smile appeared.
"A good choice," he said.
"But it won't be easy."
Jay didn't hesitate.
"I'm ready."
—
But deep inside—
In that endless darkness—
The shadow watched.
Silent.
Still.
And then—
It smiled.
Because Jay had taken the first step.
Not toward control.
But toward truth.
And the truth—
Came with a price.
A heavy one.
Because when Jay finally uncovered everything—
He might not be able to choose—
Whether he wanted to remain human…
Or become what he was meant to be. 🔥👁️
