Vaelor was checking the travel packs when Caelum appeared.
No preamble. No calling out from a distance to announce he was coming. He just walked to where Vaelor was and sat down on the ground beside him and watched what he was doing. He did this the way he did everything, which was directly and without explaining himself.

He had noticed, over the past two days, that Caelum operated on a specific kind of patience. Not child patience, which was either very long or very short depending on the situation. This was the patience of someone who had decided to be somewhere and was going to stay there until the thing he came for happened. It was the kind of patience that went with a thirty-seven item question list.
